I don't agree with Centurymaker's post re: Badrinath per se, but he looked absolutely horrible against short pitched bowling in one of the recent ODIs. Given how much flak the Rainas of this world get for the very same reason, I don't think the criticism is unjustified. Of course, it could have just been a one-off. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm getting to the point with hype that I assume the opposite. The hype around young Australian players is almost a sure sign that they haven't done anything at first class or List A level. It goes in inverse proportion - the less they have done, the more they are hyped. It's nuts.

Good bowling by Ravi Rampaul. The last few times I have watched him bowl, he looks like he has improved miles.

Just been messing with the ICC rankings. Currently, India are so far ahead of the Windies that a 3-0 win for them won't change the points. So all they can do for their ranking is lose points for every Test they drop. India can take a massive hit in points if they lose the series but will still hold onto their ranking.

Bishop has a good point.

I think that BCCI's arrogance in not insisting on practice macthes is baffling. Surely, the schedule cannot be so tight that you don't respect the preparation required to go into a test match.

That bowling performance at Centurion was one of the poorest I have seen in some time.
