If Mukund can get to drinks he'll get better. Natural nerves here.

Doesn't help when the interviewer for him this morning says "You're replacing Gambhir, so you're under pressure here"

I love that the commentators keep talking about Dravid's heroics in the 4th test of the 2006 tour in Jamaica. Those twin half centuries were stuff of Indian legend.

May they never be forgotten!

Whatever it takes!!!
Also love so much that England/India got its own subforum.. I was against it initially but to see so many threads and a lot of chest thumping going on between posters from both sides, I m kinda relieved I don't have to go there till this tour is done.. :)

I would rather talk about the cricket going on right now than a series that could potentially still see many Indian stars miss out..

Just abused my service provider in hindi and telugu. The **** can't give me ten cricket until tomorrow. So angry, don't have internet after 30 minutes as well.

How is the pitch?

Like Murphy, have no real idea about this series - what was the justification given for resting Sachin?

Not trying to get a reaction here or anything, but does it rile a bit that (arguably) your best player can seemingly pick and choose when he does and doesn't play - bloke barely seems to play ODIs nowadays unless it's the World Cup, and now he's being rested for a Test series. Surely people would want him to play as much as he can?

It's an interesting debate.

My personal take is we are reasonably well equipped to deal with this West Indian team even in his absence. But the intervening flood of injuries to guys like Sehwag, Gambhir etc makes his absence look a tad dubious.

But then he has served his country for so many years, and any cricket that we are getting from him is a bonus largely, given his age. I believe we need Sachin, fit and running, more for the coming series in Eng and Aus than in WI.

I apologise for this, but frankly this WI attack isn't half as threatening on paper as compared to Eng. I fervently hope I will be shredded into pieces by a thumping dealt to us by this lineup, but I wouldn't bet my money on that.

Murali Vijay is okay IMO. His biggest problem is his arrogance. He's not alone in that regard, though. Many of the new generation Indian cricketers are massive pricks, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli included.
