Sri Lanka love playing ODIs in Australia, don't they? Seem to be there every other year. Are CA bringing back the tri-series format that they retired in 2008?

Yes, but in CA typical fashion they 've stuffed the tri-series up too, by bringing back the protracted version of 8 qualifying games each, followed by a best of three final series.

I preferred the abridged version of 6 qualifiers each

From memory, Sri Lanka have been in the ODI tri-series in 2003, 2006, 2008, played a bilateral 3 match series in Australia last year, and will be in the tri-series in 2012 as well. Haha, they might as well be joint hosts of the CB series.
