Shutting the door totally on Katich is stupid on many counts, even if we forget how well he has done since his return to international cricket, still can the selectors really say they have a replacment ready for him..?

I'm a big Phil Hughes fan but even I have to admit that he done precious little at the international level in recent times to edge a strong performer like Katich totally out of contention.

Now.. if Hughes doesn't perform in Sri Lanka then its just a grim fact that they won't be left with many viable opening options.
