Cricket australia contracts

Gutted at the way CA has shunned Katich, not only he was our most consistent batsman over the last few years but he was also a great team player. They are saying his age was a reason behind this, but by retaining likes of Ponting, Husseys and Haddin in the contract list they have only contradicted themselves.

Can't help but think Katich's bust up with Clarke could have a lot to do with this and given the way CA is run these days it won't surprise me one bit if that exactly proves to be the case.

Katich is now saying all the same things that the fans have been saying about this Australian cricket administration for a while now, yet its good to see someone who has been a part of the Aussie set-up up until recently to come out and raise these issues, but AFAIC he's is just wasting his breath because its highly unlikely to expect any changes in the way CA functions.

Can't quite believe that press conference. Never seen a professional sportsman speak so frankly and openly about something so negative.

Did he say "Pretty much" when someone asked "Did they say to you that they won't pick you again?" Surely they haven't shut the door categorically.

What an interview. Got a slight erection when Katich mentioned that he 'got a little steamed' after being told why he was being dropped

They basically have. Why would they pick him if they aren't even giving him a contract as one of the best 25?

I mean.. he probably took it as implied right? Technically speaking, when's the soonest he can be picked?
SL. So about six-eight weeks from now. The current contracts expire at the end of the month as he said.

So would they have to add him to the contracted list to do that? Or can they pick players who are not contracted? Hmm.. I suppose it's the latter as I doubt Beer would have had a contract. Practically speaking, now that they've failed to give him a contract, I guess they can only pick him after he's bashed the door down for one more season in FC cricket.

Oh they can pick whoever they like but the point is that if they're not gonna give him a contract, they're pretty clearly not wanting to pick him.
