What? I thought Tremlett was switching ends. Why on earth take him off for Finn?
Tremlett needs managing. You don't want to bowl someone with his injury record into the turf in a situation like this.

EDIT: See him chasing that ball down? That's why :p.

Man, Jayawardene is playing some dreamy strokes right now. How good is he to watch!

EDIT : Saved by the soft hands there.

So is Broad trying to get an lbw there? He's just bowled two balls outside off stump, bowl another!

So many balls have landed short of the slips in this match. Obviously some of these are from the batsmen playing with soft hands but one does feel that the slips are too far back.

I think if SL get to lunch at 320-ish/1 we might start to man the barricades a bit.
335 for 2 with bowling actually getting worse is ringing all sorts of alarms for me.

SL 150-200 ahead by tea time on day 4 is going to put all sorts of pressure on our batters, who were sloppy as anything in the 1st innings anyway.

So they seem to have started to wake up to the fact that yes, if you bowl in the corridor not only might you get him out, you won't go for bucketloads too.

EDIT: Just as I say that...

Cue a ball down leg side.

Isn't Finn a Middlesex player? Can't exactly blame it on the slope.

Getting Dilshan out sooner rather than later could conceivably knock a full session off the time England need to bat out.

There's clearly wickets to be had with consistent bowling. Pitch isn't as flat as they're making out and we could be in a lot of trouble.

Mahela has played some nice strokes but lunch can't come soon enough for him right now..

Survival, just about. Brilliant over from Finn there.

Finn is actually troubling Jayawardene this over, showing a little bit of consistency.

Much better over.

Nah, the pitch is much too good for that. It's hardly a minefield!

Nor is it deteriorating very quickly.

Wahey. Pity it took so long for it to arrive. Possibly the most unexpectedly **** session of bowling I've seen since this Test two years ago.
