**Official** Sri Lanka in England / Scotland - 2011

Yeah, but it's the type of not-terrible bowling that wastes the new ball and often results in a long day in the field.
That's not so important in England though because if conditions and bowling are right the ball will keep moving.

Mmm sometimes. Sometimes the ball keeps swinging but edges start dropping short of the slips when it gets old.

In any case, letting the opposition get a decent opening partnership going is as big a mistake in England as it is anywhere else.

We need Onions back bowling wicket to wicket and picking up his wickets.

Finn keeps losing his line and slinging one 3ft wide of off.

EDIT: Or 4ft wide of leg stump.

Good reply by Sri Lanka, very impressed by Piranha so far this series, though he gets beaten outside off-stump as I type that.

Strauss missed a trick when Swann was bowling, around 400 runs ahead yet he either didn't think or he refused to put a silly point in on the off side to compliment the short leg that was in place. Twice in the last over Swann bowled Paranavitana got an inside edge onto pad and the ball looped towards where silly point would have been.

Just how expensive is Cook's drop going to be I wonder.

2 minutes past 4pm and still not even the umpires on the field.

Sloppy.

EDIT: Here they fianlly come, and the England team eventually join them, and the batsmen walk slowly towards the crease.

as I said earlier never underestimate SL ability to score a trillion runs on a flat track, hopefully both Sanga and Mahela will get in too.

Dilshan scoring heavily in this series will dispel a few FTB cliches and people will start comparing him with other aggressive openers like Sehwag. Done very well on this tour so far.

If the batsmen can't score heavily on this pitch then they won't ever on any pitch. This is a perfect batting strip IMO.

Lord's usually is.

Pitch isn't that easy for batting. Bit of turn, bit of seam, loads of carry. England are just bowling trash.
