If white keeps his position then marsh's position looks dicey,unless they cut katich and marsh who bats 3 for wa becomes a test option.

I can't see Marsh as a test option. He was in excellent form last summer in all formats and plenty of test spaces came up for grabs, but he wasn't given a run before the three young NSW players. I would think all three of them are going to be nursed by the Aussie mgt.

If David Hussey is now in the ODI squad and White will definitely get a contract, then where is the space for Marsh? They won't even play him in T20 when he plays blinders all the time at domestic level in that format. But I suppose he might have played enough ODI's to score a contract anyway unless they've changed their rules on that one.

It will be hard to fit marsh,voges,fergo,white and hussey in the squad,none play tests,no world cup for 5 years,and cricket australia needs to lock up some of the promising young bowling,maybe lee needs to be tapped on the shoulder.
If katich gets tapped on the shoulder good we will have him at the blues all season.
Any chance for nick maddison.

Agreed. They'll only pick 2-3 young bowlers, plus there's 15 or so automatic selections. 25 contracts gives plenty of room for Marsh, White, Ferguson, Hussey and Voges.

I would expect both Hilfenhaus and Lee will get deals. It is Cricket Australia we're talking about, after all. Hilfy managed to be utter crap and play an entire Ashes series, and Lee was probably our best bowler at the World Cup.

Yeah, with Hilf, it will always be a mystery as to why he played in the Sydney Ashes Test ahead of Bollinger. Going into that game, Hilf was averaging 80 for the series. And yet he gets picked ahead of Bollinger on Doug's home turf. If you're averaging 80 in the Series, are you troubling the opposition?

This was highlighted in my Australian cricket review incidentally!

they got paranoid about the footmarks left for Swann imo. a nice summary of the series really. still think had Cameron not done a hammy in the days before he would have been played instead

Speaking of Cameron, surely some of those NSW guys have to get contracts, especially Copeland.

Usman must be a lock too.

Mckay will miss out too much time out,lee in,hilfy should be out but suspect hilfy will be retained.
Starc is a good chance,maybe starc vs pattinson at this stage.
Where it leaves cameron and copeland dunno,but maybe 1 of those.
Will be interested who plays for aussie A holland,o'keefe or beer.
