Just because Roach was 'very average' in the ODI series (I do agree with you here) that is not to say he will be the same bowler in the Test format, as you then go onto suggest with Bishoo, who bowled well in the recent one-day series but is untested in Test conditions.

Roach has a very good Test record for one so young, and I would rather look at his previous Test performances than his ODI efforts to give us an idea of how he may or may not go in this series.

Don't get me wrong I think in Gul, Riaz, Ajmal, and to a lesser extent Tanvir, they will give WI some serious problems. You mention Hafeez, I certainly think he is a very good option and can be relied upon to produce some real control for Misbah with the ball.

Indeed. Roach is a much better test bowler than limited overs . His seam position, matched with his speed, makes him a very dangerous bowler.

Hugely disappointed we're not going to see Fidel Edwards in this Test, and unfortunately it is because they have to find a position for the captain Darren Sammy, who is probably unworthy of a starting spot in the WI squad. Would have still edged towards Edwards selection over Rampaul, unless there are fitness worries over Fidel.

Glad with the choice of six batsman rather than having to bat Baugh at six which I think would really have exposed the WI mid-lower order. Pleased that Sarwan and Chanderpaul are both selected in this side to give some experience and quality to the WI middle order.
