And not the first time too allegations have been made against him of rigging the IPL and misuse of power.

That is some seriously ****ed up ****. Stern action should be taken if Srinivasan is throwing his weight around like that. There was also some controversy about Sachin saying the RR pitch wasn't a good one, right? Though I thought RR overreacted to those comments.

IPL didn't aggravate his injury.He already was playing with it since before the SA series and even before it.

Plus he is only missing one tour which gives a chance to test out other openers to find a suitable backup.

Remember he also missed the SA ODI series with it and Newzealand one too ,and i am not too bothered if he misses the WI ODI Series too.


Besides if there was no IPL even ,knowing the BCCI India would have been playing some series in any case.

I am aware that he has had this issue for sometime now. I'm not saying IPL is responsible for it. There is every chance it made it worse, though. Yes, he missed a few ODI series before the World Cup to ensure that he was as fit as possible for the World Cup.

He wasn't going to play the ODI series in West Indies anyway - I believe most of our senior players are being rested; it's him missing the test series that bothers me.

As for the last line, I'd much rather he aggravated an injury playing for his country - maybe it's just me.

Can't fault Sehwag though - dude has his priorities right. He's quit the IPL midway to give himself the best chance of recovering before the England tour. My gripe is with IPL, not with Sehwag.

But interesting why it happened against Chennai of all teams.
When all the teams are preparing pitches to their advantage the board telling them where to play is really shady.
Also remember Rajasthan has been targetted again and again by Srinivasan and Manohar.

Srinivasan is the president elect of the board and basically running the board right now as the secretary ,so not sure if anyone can really take action against him at all.
And he is doing it.
Would rather have Modi in the board than some other people who do nothing new or creative but are expert at powerplay and are so secretive in their working that it hides their corruption.

Btw, Nice 50 by Rahane today. 53 off 40 balls.

Looked very impressive with the shots he played and had the commentators really impressed his well.

But again like some other class players ,his downfall was not being a big hitter of the ball. Played some wonderful shots though.
First real chance at a decent position he has got too. Though the task was humongous with other batsman failing.

Some times IPL highlights only big hitters like Nohit,Vijay,Kohli,Rayudu etc.. too much compared to other batsman like Pujara,Mukund,Rahane.Badri has improved this year in this regard though .

They should be able to win everywhere on slow tracks too and not resort to conflict of interest of their owner to win matches and get pitches that suit them.

And secondly juz because CSK weren't the best, doesn't mean RR shouldn't aspire to be.. And unlike MI, CSK didn't protest the pitch or conditions after losing.. So I think they got the irght idea on the game.

Rajasthan were told which pitch to play on by the IPL /BCCI ,which is not what has been done so far with any team.

And this was against Chennai,whom the pitch which the match was playing suited more.

Rajasthan's very good home record is largely built on playing on 140 to 150 type pitches,and no reason they should be told by authorities influenced allegedly by Srinivasan to lose that home advantage.

that said, it wasn't a totally dire wicket, and rajasthan would want to raise their game if to have any chances of making the ko. watson fell to an irresponsible shot and so did taylor.

All I'm saying that even if there is any suspicion of corruption or conflict of interest, it should be thoroughly investigated, brought to light and sorted out. You cannot say that RR should focus on making their team stronger or whatever, that is completely irrelevant to the larger issue.

Definitely. hb is being ridiculous. And Csk do not need any unfair advantage to win at all. We are the champs ffs and we have been among the top teams at every edition of the IPL so far.

lol.. I see you still retain hope that the BCCI can be brought to the books. I have given up that hope a LONG time back. BCCI being corrupt is just not a surprise to me anymore.


And look, don wanna start up another controversy and this is just speculation, but knowing the BCCI and its way of working, I am pretty sure Modi threw his weight around in 2008 and may have well helped RR win the thing, like Srnivasan is doing now. And tommorrow if Dalmiya is back, he may well do this for KKR. This is just how the BCCI works and as I said, I have no hopes of them changing. I feel it is easier for RR to become a better side than for BCCI to become a more honest body.

I am not sure why I am being ridiculous. Is it because I am used to the BCCI being corrupt? Sorry, it is not news to me anymore and maybe I m cynical, but I don even wanna discuss how bad they are.. There is just no point. They won't change. The people do, but the practises dont. The beneficiaries change, but the corruption continues.. So I have basically given up on these things and I am talking about what I feel CAN be changed. I would love it for once, if we had a side that was SO good that no amount of influencing the pitch and conditions is gonna defeat them. THAT would be the easiest way to get these guys to stop such practices. When they realize doing that guarantees nothing....
