Hype around a 2 test series is nowhere close to that around a 4 test series. 2 test series just don't feel the same, especially the ones that are played between the top teams. They are over in a blink of an eye and teams can't make a come back if they lose the 1st test.

This is a very frustrating aspect of a 2 test series

Yeah I completely agree. Four Tests >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> two Tests. But it's almost like the ridiculous all-or-nothing UDRS debate; two Tests are definitely better than nothing. Whether four Tests are better is immaterial to the discussion.

If we didn't have too many tests this year then I'd take a 2 test series. But not when we already play like at least 10-11 tests this year. Maybe if it was like NZ-Ind or Ind-Bdesh or something I'd take a 2 test series but not vs England. Even last time it was only a 2 test series vs England. I'd just take a full series vs England whenever it comes. Shouldn't been too far away since we played them last in 08.

Don't think that anything with a cardinality of two can be rightfully said to form a series. A pair of tests rather than a series of tests, I would think.

There is no such thing as 'nothing' in the context in which you have indicated. Teams will inevitably play each other at some point, whether it happens over a cycle of every 2 years or 10.

The point of a test series is to provide a clear indicator of which team is the better one over a consistent period. 2 test series simply dont do that and we have seen this repeatedly over the past 20 years. AFAIC, give me a 4 test match series once every 7 years than a 2 test match series every 3 years.

A two-Test series is like a girl taking you back to her bedroom but then telling you to go. Sure, you enjoyed everything up to that point, but ultimately you probably wouldn't have bothered as you're annoyed thinking about what might have happened.

A 2 test series is like wanking - better than B not as good as C.
