Apparently regardless of the flawlessness of a players technique, how great the bowlers a player has to contend to unless a player averages greater than 99 that player is not a better player than Bradman.

I didn't say you can't use it. Just that I don't like it. A lot of others get annoyed by that smily too.

I've been using the rolleyes emoticon in a lighthearted way, didn't know people get offended by it

You are making the mistake that technique and it's "completeness" is actually the most important factor. Chappell had about the most text-book style you could have...yet most people consider Viv Richards better - who was largely flamboyant and coloured outside of the lines, so to speak. Look at Sehwag? I am sure Gavaskar gets panic attacks just watching him bat.

Again, let's refrain into making this into a to-and-fro between members and turning this into the last thread about these two batsmen that got closed.

9/11 was a conspiracy.

Bradman > Tendulkar statistically. IMO if Bradman had played in this era, he would've avg'd around the 75 mark. Thats all I have to say.
He would have averaged 111.11 if he was playing now. Sachin would have averaged 49.99 in Bradmon's era.

No matter how many runs Sachin makes, he never brings the fear that Viv did. Did Sir Don ever voice his opinion of Viv at any stage???

Anway just let me say that STR imho one of the all time great cricketers from any era.

I wonder if the net was around in 1948 if this was a Bradman V Grace thread if some old fogey would be having a go at the Bradman fan boys for suggesting he was better than the Doc:ph34r:

It's not something I am going to hold against him to the extent that I'd compare him to Bun or dhillon; but I will generally rate his understanding of the game less.
I am not offended by that statement since I don't believe I am a guy who knows everything about the game and don't claim to be someone who can read the game well(but yeah, I am tactically good and once lead an U14 school team to a championship win by beating the super seniors-a bit Geoff Boycottish?:p), so I am fine with it if you hold that viewpoint. But, I find it hypocritical of you tbh. You told earlier today that you are not going to question Nasser Hussein's analytical acumen because he said Sachin is better than Bradman, but now you say you will question posters knowledge of the game here. Not offended in the least bit, just find it strange.

I actually said the opposite. If anything, I said I'd question his intelligence as a human being, let alone as a cricketer.

No arguing that. I always thought Chris Cairns had a bit of that vibe that put fear into the opposition players but he never reached the heights of Viv.
