Bangalore never really had enough runs. Mumbai bowled brilliantly, make no mistake, but Bangalore really should have got another twenty runs. 140/4 suggests underutilization of resources.

Mumbai's decision to replace Zaheer with Munaf might have raised some eyebrows at the time, but it's looking pretty smart so far. Their attack is looking extremely good.

Sachin yet to be dismissed this IPL, WAG. And agree with Ankit that Rayudu looks the goods in terms of his technique and strokes. I remember he was considered a prodigy at one point of time, but never really came through. *goes to look up his FC record*

Rayudu is great against pace bowlers.. but struggled against spin, particularly Vettori.. some of the strokes were just awful

Dilshan

De Villiers
Vettori
Nannes
Zaheer Khan

On paper that team should not get its ass whooped like it did.

Sort yourselves out Bangalore.

Way too reliant on the top 3 batsmen IMO. Zaheer's biggest strength in limited overs (his 2nd spell with the older ball) is negated in T20s. Though I must say he also bowled generally crap today. They need to keep Nannes fit, or else Vettori will bowl his 4 overs for 20 without picking up too many wickets in every match and they'll still concede big totals.

Nah Tiwary can bat in T20s. He may look ugly as ****, and I want him no where near the ODI lineup for a long time, but he is good in this format on Indian wickets.

They have a good batting lineup. They just didn't want to use it today.

Yeah add Tiwary too.. that's a killer lineup if there ever was one...

They also have ABDV coming at 4 .

They kind of misread the pitch today and aimed too low, specially against this MI lineup.

Oops yeah, I counted Dilshan (though I'm not that sure of his past T20 records), Kohli and De Villiers as their 3 key batsmen. Not sure about Agarwal. De Villiers is by far the most prized wicket in that lineup. Saurabh Tiwary does the business alright, but will take a few balls to get set before he starts slogging. A bit like Cameron White.

Rayudu should play for India.
What form would you play him and where?

Great of Sachin to Share/Give his MOTM with Rayudu. WAG!!!!

Rayudu had a lot of offers from almost every team this year and it took ultimately a personal call from Sachin to get him to sign for them.

Great gesture from Tendulkar to give the MoM to Rayudu.. remember him doing earlier in an int game to Yuvraj

Yeah if we're talking as to who deserved it more, Rayudu had a case (scored more, at a faster rate) and Sachin probably realised that too.

That being said, Sachin literally never looked like going out.

He has been in form in everything he has played since Australia's tour of India in 2008 I reckon. It is scary.

Time to start trying him out in some of the bilateral ODI series if Sachin/Sehwag sit out. But yeah, there's loads of competition among the younger batsmen to get into the ODI team.

MI are going to be a tough nut to crack like last year. The opponents need one of their batsmen to go berserk and that against Malinga is a very big ask.

Rayudu was a special talent, sadly politics in Andhra cricket has played a big role in him not reaching the potential he showed.

To be honest, Mumbai's attack is still very reliant on Malinga. Pollard is a very very smart bowler, and if Harbhajan is on of course he is good. But those two can still be taken to, and so can Munaf Patel.

I don't think the plan of Dilshan and AB Devilliers was necessarily wrong. The problem is once they were set they never launched properly. After the 9th or 10th over they should have decided to smash it (I was wrong in thinking they had the right strategy in holding back).

Australia showed that if you can go at Munaf in the World Cup, even when he is bowling decently. He is predictable. Harbhajan will go into his shell if you go at him early too.

One day Malinga will have an off-day, and if it happens someone else better step up.

Then again the way Sachin is batting, he and Pollard could probably chase 200-odd.
