Yeah, I agree. Applies more to batsmen though. It's such a batsman's game. Sometimes it grates a bit to see Yusuf Pathan slogging and chinese cutting Dale Steyn for runs. Asking someone like Warne or Murali or Steyn to capture the viewer's imagination in this format is a bit like expecting Michelangelo to express himself in a newspaper cartoon.
Such a great analogy, that. I may have to steal it.

Televised and with very lax foreign player laws - so you get awesome teams - then that would be incredible.
Yeah, don't think I fully explained myself. Rather than a FC version of the IPL, a cricketing equivalent of the Premier League.
Would be stupidly good.

Haha, see you later Sehwag. Great shot first ball and then guides one to slip.

Also, am I the only person who has thought about how insanely good a FC equivalent of the IPL would be? I know it's not feasible or what have you but it'd be absolutely incredible. As long as it was televised of course.
County Cricket was very good standard during the '80s, wasn't it? Obviously, it was still FC cricket and as such considered a level below Tests, but most of the top W. Indian, Pakistani and even some Indians played for counties around that time IIRC.

Wouldn't have a clue, will have to take your word for it. Might have a look though.

On a different forum I was involved in a draft for a tournament similar to the one we're talking about now. Imagine a tournament consisting of games like :

1. Heino Kuhn
2. Fawad Alam
3. Jesse Ryder
4. Virat Kohli
5. Stiaan van Zyl
6. Dale Benkenstein
7. Albie Morkel
8. Irfan Pathan
9. Ramesh Powar
10. Friedel de Wet
11. Peter Siddle
vs
Phil Hughes
Simon Katich
Michael Klinger
Mark Ramprakash
Subramaniam Badrinath
Andrew McDonald
James Foster
Azhar Mahmood
Rana Naved
Murali Kartik
Jimmy Anderson

etc

Those teams were drafted for a 22 team competition though, would be a better standard with fewer teams obviously.

Shane Warne should still be playing International cricket. Looks fit and ten times better than anything around these days.

God I miss Warne.. the way he powers through his delivery stride, that half-appeal/cry of anguish every time the batsman doesn't hit the ball out of the middle, everything about him. Just a privilege to watch.

Delhi basically have Sehwag and Warner followed by a bunch of crap.

And Sehwag is **** at T20'S.

Disagree. I love Shane Warne (and he's one of the reasons why I'm watching the IPL), but I don't think he could cope with the workload in international cricket.
