Hey guys. Chiming in with my random question.

Is Cena playing a heel against The Rock? Or is he playing face, and The Rock is being cheered ala Hogan was when he took on The Rock in 2002?

I've started watching wrestling again because my 5 year old loves it

Tonight he told my wife that he was going to "play the smack town" (he's 5 ffs) if she continued to hassle him about getting into his bath

God, I've missed this rubbish

Tbh it's neither really. IMO morally Cena is the face but then his sneak attack on Rock was a bit heelish. Really it's just face on face with the kids, women and me cheering Cena on and the adult blokes cheering The Rock.

It's played out with The Miz feud quite brilliantly actually and it will be very interesting tonight.

Agree about Sheamus-Bryan

I won't give anything away either but I really enjoyed the whole show. Reaction seems hugely negatuve so far which surprises me.

Well tbf mate, you might be joking, but over the past, say, eighteen months, that is true.

Also though, I always tend to enjoy a PPV live but might review my opinion down the line. I thought WM25 was great at the time but then on review realised it was a one-match show.

Thought it was good myself, not even close to being one of the worst ever for mine. Felt that the show did miss MITB though, it's become a staple of WM and a great way to get a lot of talented midcarders on the show and generate some action through great spots etc... and provide some variation. All in all I thought the other matches didn't disappoint for the most part. The three big ones were good, though I was disappointed that Del Rio didn't go over, and thought the fact that it opened the show pretty much gave the result away. Taker vs HHH also good, particularly liked the bit at the end where Taker couldn't stand up. Enjoyed Cena v Miz as well, though minus the Rock it somehow didn't really have a WM feel to it, which surprised me. Rock though, WAG, will be very interested to see where this goes.

All in all it wasn't the most fantastic show ever, but it was good fun and better than the average ppv so I'd be happy to give it a good review.

Worst thing about this is that so many guys who have been pushed really hard over the last year ended up working in skit matches or ones that were over in an incredibly short space of time. Morrison, Ziggler, Kofi, all of the Corre, Sheamus and Bryan etc.. could all have been put to much better use for my money. That's about the only really bad thing I can think of to say about the show though.

TNA Wrestling performer Kurt Angle, a former WWE Champion, posted numerous messages on his Twitter account during WrestleMania XXVII criticizing Randy Orton, Jack Swagger, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler for using his trademark finishing maneuvers during their respective matches.

The tweets are as follows:

"To WWE wrestlers, Don't use my Finish. Get more Creative. Hmmmm- Orton. Did I say that."

"I heard Orton had an Awesome match though. Ur welcome. Lol."

"I guess Swagger will use my Ankle Lock as well.Very creative. I'm the Best in the World. You Guys will never be Kurt Angle.can I get an AMEN."

"Kurt Angle will never die. TNA. WWE. I'm a leader. Not follower."

"Why would WWE use my finishes? Is it because I won't go back? R Orton- Angle Slam. M Cole- Ankle Lock? They have some nerve."

"Jerry Lawlor did it too. But He is a Legend. WWE really stuck it to Me.No Love lost. I'm glad that I helped Your biggest Event of the Year:)"
Thanks Kurt, clearly nobody in the history of forever has ever used the Ankle lock before other than yourself.

I think it was an abysmally booked show with some good moments. Overall, an okay show.

My thoughts:

Open up with The Rock to warm up the crowd. Good idea, terrible execution. The Rock was out there for what seemed like ages, same old crap which people criticize Cena for. It is entertaining, but was definitely not worth bumping Sheamus Vs Daniel Bryan off the card, for.

Alberto Del Rio opening the card, then losing to Edge. Not a fan of that. The winner of the Royal Rumble main events Wrestlemania. He doesn't have to go on last, but not open the show. Was a good, solid match. The whole thing made no sense though. Christian has dominated Del Rio and this culminates in nothing at Wrestlemania, whatsoever. Del Rio has now lost three matches clean in a row - two to Christian and one to Edge. I don't know what has happened, but his push has been stifled slightly. The lack of Christian involvement (or participation in the match) stunk of last minute booking and the whole thing has made Del Rio look weak. I back him to win the title at Extreme Rules perhaps - but still highly unimpressed with the booking. The match itself though, as I said, was solid. ***

Cody Rhodes Vs Rey Mysterio was a good match, imo. Rhodes launched some impressive offense, I love his new character and would have been outraged had he lost. Luckily, he won and the overzealous celebration was a nice touch to show how much it meant to him to beat Mysterio at Wrestlemania. ***

Hornswoggle segment was entertaining. Worth pushing Sheamus/Bryan off the card for? Hell no!

The Corre Vs Showanetino Kingston was clearly rushed, due to last minute changes to the card. It ran about two minutes. However, I liked that it was short. We've seen Slater/Gabriel take on Santino, a million times. Kane and Big Show would dominate every member of The Corre, the match could only go short. Massive shame that this was the Wrestlemania culmination of the Nexus movement, but whatever. *

Punk Vs Orton was a good match. Nothing spectacular, but great offense by Punk. Predictable ending, but better to have a nice standard spot ending then anything over booked. ***

Cole Vs Lawler was a joke. Absolute joke. Pathetically booked, from start to finish. Booker T stunner was good perhaps, the rest was crap. Cole was an embarrassment to the company and the business. He worked like a child. Absolutely terrible. Zero

I was dozing in the Triple H Vs Undertaker match, but from what I saw (which was most of the match), it was superb. Couldn't make Streak Vs Career, but was excellent nonetheless. The selling by Undertaker after the match was also magnificent. So many people think Taker was legit hurt, top stuff. Still though, it took about 10 minutes to get him out of the arena. Could this time have been spent on an IC match that mattered or, dare I say it, Sheamus/Bryan?! ****

Snookimania ran about two minutes. One good move by Snooki, one which Lacey Von Erich would be embarrassed by. John Morrison's "YEH" as Snooki got the pinfall was the greatest thing I have ever seen though. Hard to describe but try to find the finish online and check it out. Match: * John Morrison "YEH": *****

John Cena Vs Miz was a bizarre match. The entrances created a big-match-feel. The crowd were bored, they were waiting for The Rock to come out. Was a mistake in booking not to have The Rock stand ringside for the entire match. The fans did not care. They started to care a tiny bit when Miz kicked out of the AA, but still seemed unimpressed. The double-countout + restart + Rock screws Cena was good. It was bizarre to watch play out, but it was the best way to do things. The Rock then proceeding to beat the crap out of The Miz better lead somewhere though. This was his moment, and The Rock pissed all over it. The work from Miz was good and from Cena was average. The way he ran in the ring after the brutal double countout was abysmal - sudden Cena recovery and he pulled off the only major botch of the show when he flung himself out the ring. **1/2

The show played out okay thanks to good ring work all around. The booking though, was terrible.
