Back now that India has won :) Ecstatic right now.

Comiserations to Pak fans. Guys hold your heads up. Your team played fantastic cricket after all that happened in last 12 months with Pak team. Give them a warm reception when they come back.

Cheers.

Intikhab Alam in an interview said that luck plays a large %age and perhaps it did. Dropped catches sometimes stick, sometimes dont.

Before anyone castigates Misbah too much, remember he is the rock around which Umar, Afridi, Razzaq, etc can flay around. The best p'ship is when one stays solid and the others flay.

Difficult to pinpoint where exactly Pakistan lost this, and I do think it was Pakistan that blew it rather than being outplayed by India. India won't care they're in the final, and that's all that counts. It comes down to a number of contributory factors for me -

* Umar Gul was so far off his game it was hard to think this is the same bowler that we've seen throughout the tournament.

* Dropping Sachin Tendulkar four times is far from acceptable. In such a big game against such a great player, simply unacceptable.

* Poor use of the batting powerplay, like all sides, there is a complete lack of flexibility in the use of it.

* The innings of their experienced men in Misbah and Younis Khan, Misbah failed to react when he realised the rate was climbing and wickets as a consequence were falling. Could not rotate the strike anywhere near enough earlier in his innings nor could Younis.

*Gifted India too many wickets, awful selection of strokes. Hafeez the prime example.

Credit to India for winning today, and with Pakistan making so many errors it meant India were the much better and more disciplined side. There were positives for Pakistan, but they will be insignificant on the back of this performance.

Such a big wtf.

It's clear to everyone who watched the match that Wahab played a higher quality of cricket than Tendulkar. That is pretty much beyond dispute.

WTF? Would have thought Wahab would get it, even being on the losing side. He single-handedly got them back into the game after being shellacked earlier - 5-46.

Cricinfo headline "India scraps their way to final"... Surely a joke? Atleast Pakistani innings, it was a beginning to end domination. Pakistan never ever looked threatening to chase down the total.
Ha ha, hardly, although Pakistan didn't help themselves.

Yes, pretty much this.

Why does Bun remind me of so many of our other, coincidentally, Indian friends who are no longer allowed to post?

I call BS on this. You wouldn't be saying this if this was Dravid, Laxman, Chanders or Martyn playing this Innings, You'd just be saying their batting is dire. Just because someone comes from a country where there have been recent instances of fixing does not mean they should be suspected of fixing unless conclusive proof is provided.
there's nothing to investigate. misbah ul useless was playing for place. Hitting fours in the last 2 overs. 8-)

Wahab should've been MOTM surely? Bowled the spell of his lifetime. That reverse swinging yorker to Yuvraj was just unplayable.

Well, Wahab's 5for wasn't enough. But Tendulkar's 85 was perhaps the worst 80 plus score he has ever scored in this format. But for the sheer effect on the end result, it has to get the MoM.

IIRC, Hussey's knock in Sydney test against Pakistan got him a MoM right? Was similarly dropped, but in the end was the difference.

But Sachin, WAG!
