I tried finding some footage of him online but couldn't maybe Rob might have some of his clips
There's footage of Clarke bowling at Viv on this video/DVD;

It was very widely available so I'm sure Rob has a copy. If not, I do so might be able to con a friend into loaning me their VHS player!

Indeed I have!

I do have stacks of footage from the two WI rebel tours to South Africa, or was it just one...cant remember, but 83/84 tour to SA has heaps of Clarke bowling, against Graeme Pollock too!

Indeed you have, Clarke bowling here and here.
Thanks for pointing these out Top_Cat.

Boy Clarke does look mean. Doesn't even spare Viv the short stuff. And Viv just ouls him away with so much ease even when the ball is climbing at an awkward angle..

These West Indians of the 1980s were built like tanks. Clarke makes Viv look kind of small and Viv himself has muscles rippling.

is it possible to upload that footage Rob?

Just checked Clarke's record, I have 7 of his one dayers on video, so can upload all his bowling from those matches, one match he got 3/16 vs Australia.

wow........Holding looks express pace.........I also reckon it has to do with the pitches......the pitches don't seem to have as much bounce in Australia these days
No doubt that the WACA was a fast bowler's dream back then but check out vids of him at the Oval in '76 and his famous over against Boycott in the WI from about 79/80

Those wickets were flat and he was terrifyingly quick

not saying that Holding wasn't as quick just that the bounce and carry on the pitch is just, as you say, a fast bowler's dream

Why don't they make them like that pitch anymore?

The deck lost a lot of it's pace and bounce.. Nearly all of it. When Lillee became involved with the WACA he made it a mission to try and get it back to its former glory. It's come back a bit, but it's very much a work in progress.

yeah man......it would be awesome if they could get it back to that kind of pace and bounce.........I just love watching fast bowlers steaming in and getting lots of assistance from the deck.

Btw the loss of pace and bounce was by the cricket authorities or the pitch just naturally lost it?

Well I think, but don't know, that it was an element of both. The square started cracking up badly a decade or more back, and they took steps to remedy it, and I think that had something to do with it, along with the administrators' desire for matches to last five days. I say that as a complete outsider though, I really don't know one way or the other.

I remember beack in the 80s when the WI would come here every second year, and we'd play the first two tests in Brisbane and Perth. LOL, anyone who reckons Australia has prepared "home town" decks doesn't go back very far. We were usually 2-0 down after about 4.5 days' playing time.
