Sub-par score, IMO. Looks about a 280 par wicket to me.
The game will be decided in the first 15 overs of the WI's innings.

As for the pitch, I don't think it's too bad at all. There is good turn available, expect Swann to be a handful, and the pundits out there do seem to be predicting it to get more difficult to bat on, but there doesn't seem to be too many demons in it at all yet.

There will be reverse swing for Bresnan, and maybe some bounce early on for Tremlett. This isn't our strongest bowling attack by some way, just hope for some inspirational efforts.

Was your work so depressing that it made you post "See you in four years?" :p

Haha, just a momentary sway away from my title. Optimism back on, England to win this by 100+ maybe 150 runs, and go on to win the tournament.

Who do the bookies make favs at this stage?

Am at work and gambling sites blocked. If we had Broad I think I'd make us favs, but 20 overs from Tredwell, Ravi & Wright with Gayle and Pollard in the ranks could be sheer murder.

Was Ravi's batting effort as bad as it looked reading it on cricinfo?

It was pretty average, as opposed to his last shot, which was appalling.

England rely too much on all-rounders, they should get more specialists into the team.
Can't agree. Wright is the only guy not picked for a primary discipline, guys like Bopara and Bresnan would be in the side anyway even if they couldn't bowl/bat.

If anything we need more batsmen who can bowl.

Didn't know that Bresnan knew how to reverse swing. :-O

Probably only Luke Wright that may fit into this category. Ravi Bopara is a good enough batsman to be considered a specialist, he just happens to bowl aswell. Same with Bresnan who's one of our finest bowlers currently, and can hold a bat.

There are no other players outside this XI that would do the so-called specialist roles any better.

Was excellent with it during the Ashes. Although if there really is reverse on offer then their best exponent of it by far is sitting in a bright yellow bib in the dressing room. And their best exponent of this type of pitch is twiddling his thumbs in England.

What about Yardy? I'm sure you could get a better spinner.

Ladbrokes have us as favourites at 4/6, WI are at 6/5.

Bishoo with the greatest interview of all time....
He bowled well, but I think England have enough to win this. The Windies are going to miss Shiv in the middle, IMHO.
