Excellent work by Kallis.

Lol at the powerplay too. Hey geniuses. The whole point of the powerplay is you don't have to play awful agricultural slogs and hacks to get boundaries.

Hahaha wow. This is quite a collapse...

This is why I hate the powerplay debate, even with two set batsman who are raping it the powerplay can trigger a few wickets that will lose all the good work of a blossoming partnership. Leave it to the end when everyones job is to swing away and let that be the end of it.

Exactly! Thats why I dont understand why they sent Pathan?

Bhajji needs to play out a few overs here. There is a realistic chance of us actually getting bowled out.

Because there's this obsession with "maximizing the powerplay" meaning you have to get your most aggressive batsman in. Never mind 1. the above and 2. Pathan is not a from-ball-one hitter. Most of those tend to be, gasp, normal batsmen.

Idea of sending Pathan just looked ridiculous to me. No batsman can come and slog straight away. Needs some time at the crease. Thats when he had always looked dangerous.

Pathan is just like Symonds, Klusener, Kemp - who'd take their time and then attack once they get in.

We are getting it all wrong there, oh man!

Yeah. If they were going to promote him, Dhoni should've done what Clarke did in Sydney and sent him up to #3.
