Congratulations New Zealand and New Zealand fans. A thoroughly deserved win. It just goes to show they aren't pushovers. Whoever gets them in the quarterfinals better bring their A game. Ross Taylor - Happy Birthday and well played. :notworthy

From Pakistan's point of view, I guess it's a good thing this happened now and not in the quarterfinals. Kamran Akmal has to be dropped. Make his brother keep; he can't do much worse.

Brilliant performance by New Zealand today. Seems as though whenever they win recently, they're unbeatable.

Strange to think that for long swathes of the match, such as the inconspicous start by New Zealand and Razzaq's innings for Pakistan, it was a fairly even contest. But the match was entirely decided by 10 overs in the middle, the final five of NZ's innings and the first 5 of Pakistan's response.

Well done NZ. Superb victory. Heartening to see the bowlers delivering. Just opens up this world cup so much more. Doubt if they can remain consistent. Good luck to them.

I was more impressed with the bowling and fielding.

Mills is going good. IDK why he wasn't being picked before.
Oram bowled really intelligently today. Impressive.

Good thing about Pakistan is that it's good that everyone had a bad day on the same day.
Pakis are still decent shout for '11 WC champs.

Pakistan's opening pair is a bit of a worry for them. TBF, it's not exactly the easiest job in SL where the ball seams a bit early on, but they haven't fired in four games now.

Not sure where your lack of confidence in the NZ bowling comes from. It's the NZ team's strength.

I am actually very happy Pakistan lost today…all the weaknesses that they were prone to came out today…the chasing strategy, their only 3 specialist bowlers, Razzaq batting at number 8 in these pitches and also their bowling strategy. I definetly think after watching pak matches during this WC that they need to drop one of the openers and put Akmal in the opening position and send either Umar Akmal or Razzaq at no.3 and depending on the pitch they are playing in they should include either Saeed Ajmal or Junaid/Wahab.

They also need to reserve Gul's 5 overs in the last 10 of the innings and finish Shoaib spell in the middle overs, thats where he is most effective. So all in all i think this loss is a blessing in disguise.

Nice to see NZ win.. The posters of NZ here, almost all of them, are awesome :)



But TBF, the same can be said about the Pakistan posters here, who are a great lot themselves. Sad for them to see such a loss.. But might just be the wake up call Pak needed.

I don't like the bloke but he was unlucky today with those drops and like Anderson in the India game had the chances been taken it may have been a different story with their figures.
