*Official* Match 23 - Canada v Kenya

Tempting to write these sorts of games off but they occasionally produce something spectacular. Both teams were most definitely minnows at the time but there you go, big scoring and a close finish. Andy Flower's first ODI, incidentally.

Noteworthy because Piloos Reporter was one of the umpires in this game and, with so many 4's, you got a good look at his ninja-style boundary signals.
Zim Ireland was one of the better games in the 2007 WC and one of the very few games which produced a tight finish but I can't see this game being memorable at all. Kenya have no players of any real quality, Tikolo and Odoyo are finished, well and truly, while Canada are a ragtag side of economic migrants and refugees masquerading as an international side.

Hard to see how Odoyo is finished given that hes not even 33 and got rave reviews for his spell against Pakistan. Also, Im not sure how anyone who has watched Balaji Rao or Harvir Baidwan could suggest that the Canadian team is devoid of any talent. If Steve Smith or Adil Rashid had half the potential as Rao they'd be paraded around as the next Shane Warne.

Given the state of Balaji Rao he wouldn't get a look in at county level. You seen the guy field or try to run?

Also, I didn't say Canada were devoid of any talent. Said they were a side full economic migrants and refugees, which is unquestionably true.

Well yes his fitness is pretty poor, though given that the majority of these players really only play cricket part time it really comes as no surprise. Ashish Bagai for example is an investment banker in London.

Whatever you want to call them, and even if they are 2 of the worst sides in the tournament, there are certainly a few talented players out there to watch for.

There's no doubt Canada's bowling is far better than their batting. Even against Kenya, I really doubt they can chase much more than 150-200 unless Cheema has a blinder. Good start from Osinde, Canada will have to keep this up.

Yeah we'll need to restrict them for less than 200 if we want to win this.

The bowling has been superb Onside is getting some good carry through to Bagai.

Pressure is building here...

There is every chance now that Canada must be favourites to bundle out Kenya for under 150, pressure is building
