Very fired up, is Tait. You'd think from the appeal that it was going to hit the middle of middle...

Hope Sangakkara is OK. Johnston has a record of breaking fingers with rearing deliveries.

Establishing a decent platform here Sanga and Mahela. Australia have potentially a number of wicket-taking bowlers, will be a good test to see how effective they are with these two classy batsmen now beginning to look reasonably comfortable out there.

Time to try something different and introduce Krejza into the attack, just to change things around and give these two something different to think about.

I didn't know that Arjuna averaged 46 (@ close to 1000 runs) in World Cups. That is pretty good, especially as, iirc, his overall odi average was in the mid 30s.

Well it's pretty obvious what the plan is here. Not the worst plan but you'd think it would be pretty remiss of Sangakkara if it were to, well, work.

Yes Johnson going full and straight to Sanga with a split field, not the worst plan, but Sanga is pretty comfortable in that area you'd think.

Damn, thats a big wicket. Mahela was beginning to look good too. 3 spinners wont do much if Aus chase less than 200 - 225.

Shows the importance of excellent fielding, as these two were looking in no trouble against the bowling, but indecision in their running on that occasion has proved most costly. Smith just catching the very top of the stumps, but that was enough. Didn't seem too much desperation from Mahela, where was the dive ?

Looks even worse on the replay, really. Jayawardene is a joy to watch when he's going, but he's such a casual looking player.

Looked like he was trying to get between fielder and the stumps.

Aussies needed that wicket, done well so far getting 3 wickets this early. SL still scoring quickly enough, need a partnership though. Important phase of the game now with Krezja coming on, could be smashed about by the bats.
