Recent glut of amazing ODI hundreds..

The rest of the batsmen struggled badly in both games.
In Marsh's case atleast that was more down to the other batsman playing poorly.

In any case we can't only include innings where other played poorly and those which only came in chases.

Yeah, well in that case you'd have even more.. Kohli's 100 against Australia, Sehwag's against Bangladesh, RtD's knock and many many more.. I wanted to list the ones that really stick out in the memory.

Remember AB devilliers scoring a around 55 ball hundred agains India .

And Shahid Afridi demolishing Bangladesh with a 120 of 50 odd balls too.

Is it becoming easier to play knocks like this due to the bats etc.? I don't remember seeing so many amazing ODI knocks in such a short period of time..

I'm not sure why so many people are saying that Marsh's innings doesn't belong here on this list, in an otherwise very low-scoring game if made all the difference. Made even better I'd say by the fact that he made about 1/2 his runs batting with no.10 Bollinger.

Would give a fair shout to Morgan's 103* against Oz in the English summer, which was a wonderful match-winning effort notable for the quality of the shotmaking.

The Batsman are taking more chances these days and are more confident.
It certainly seems as though it's far more common these days to see lower middle-order batsmen come in and smack a quick hundred in the space of 20-25 overs and completely turn a game around.

T20 and IPL had huge impact on how batsmen approach their game now a days!!!
dislike the fact that the boundary ropes are brought in so much for ODIs/T20s ...
Really cheapens runs doesn't it
Agree with the above. That's why Watson's knock against England (at the 'G) was as good as I've seen. Even with ropes in, a relatively big ground.

Would I get more joy out of beating India in the ODI WC final or thumping the Poms in the Ashes? hmmm
