I'd say both teams choked in that neither could close out the match from an overwhelmingly dominant position - England when they needed sixty something off sixty two balls with eight wickets in hand (and a batsman batting on a hundred and fifty), and India when they had twenty-nine runs to play with and only two overs to bowl. In the end, I guess you could say it was a fair result : neither deserved to win, neither deserved to lose.

I swear I almost had a heart attack in the last over.

But 3 hours later, I'm just not satisfied with the result. For me the match was great, the cricket was superb, but the result not so much. It was a memorable match surely. And yeah it maybe a fair result considering both teams had their moments, but just not satisfied. And I hope the Indian players aren't either, I hope they take a long hard look at their fielding/bowling and come out hungry in rest of the matches. And it's disappointing because most Indian fans know they can do it, they've been better with the ball and in the field. But not the appealing, they've never been good at that :p

England's choking was because we decided against fielding a middle order.

When Strauss and Bell were going well, I was worried that if one or both of them got out, we'd regret going for Yardy over Bopara.

We've got decent tailenders who can whack 6s (which as we saw today is pretty invaluable), would help if we weren't going into games with essentially 4 specialist batsmen.

Really, is a Collingwood/Bopara combination any worse than Yardy as your 5th bowler?

I really think that neither of those positions are a big enough advantage to call choke, TBH. They're very advantageous, but not certainties. Under lights for England too, and India just met some mighty fine six hitting from our tail, who all can bat.

Yardy wasn't horrible except for one over where Dhoni took him apart (his last one ?). I was mildly shocked that the Indian batsmen were struggling to score freely against his darts.

I hope you have your Afridi effigy ready to burn after we beat you in the final.
As much of a dream final as India vs Pak would be, much like the T20 2007 final, I don't think I'll be able to handle it. :p

It'd be too much pressure. But then again, for the fans of the team that wins, don't know if there'd be a better feeling than that.

I think I would have to watch the match in a hospital, in case of a heart attack

To be fair, when you need 67 from the last 10 overs with 8 wickets left, you should be winning.

I wouldn't call it a choke because one wicket was always likely to open the floodgates given how appaling our 5-6-7 are, but we really ought to have won that game.

I'd say that England's position was more than just 'very advantageous', though. You'd back a team to get a touch over a-run-a-ball for ten odd overs with eight wickets and a batting powerplay in hand. And yeah, that was quite some hitting towards the end from your tail. It was Shehzad's six that shocked me, though. I've seen Bresnan and Swann use the long handle before, so I knew they were capable of hitting a couple of lusty blows. But Shehzad ? That was a shock if ever there was one.

Well your kind of agreeing with me there, yes we should of won, but wasn't a surprise to anyone that we struggled.

Well, already said we should of one it.

Amjal very capable of hitting it, three sixes in his 38 ODI runs. Averages 29 in First-class too.

My bro said to me when Shazhad came on strike, "is he any good?"

I was like, "ugh, he's okay...we know he CAN bat but really I'd rather Swnn was on strike" and then...six...I was like yeah told ya

I'd actually say only England choked. Sure, India posted a big score but they had a whole innings of bowling to do. On the other hand, England until the last 10 overs were big favourites to have won, and should have.

He hit some beauties in the Australia series if memory serves. Finn got that 39 and even big Tremlett too hit a monster off Lee if memory serves. Pretty much all the English bowlers can whack a ball.

He reminded me of BalaJi's batting, pressure situation, last over, Akhtar bowler, 1st Ball of over went for 6 over long on.
