Nah, Afridi will bowl himself as second spinner and Hafees can chip in as well. I'd still drop one of the Akmals but bring in Shafique.

I'd prefer Rehman to Ajmal, if they are equal on bowling then Rehman is a much better batsman. Plus Ajmal is awful in the field. And I would rather not be watching Ajmal bowl, if ya know what I mean.
I think he'll go for Rehman. He already has an off-spinner in Hafeez, a left-armer would add more variety to the attack.

Akhtar struggles a lot in his 2nd and 3rd spells reckon he will have a similar WC to what Donald had back in 2003.

Swann is still at home as his baby was born yesterday, but apparently he'll arrive two days before the Netherlands match.
Fair enough. No idea who's in next, presumably Jimmy will get a game. Think I'd rather see Tredwell bowling than Yardboy but it's not a pleasant choice.

Edit: Colly gone (65 off 73) and Bres is in. So Yards is out. Team finally starting to come together.

EditTheRedux: Bres hits Junaid for a boundary second ball. I suspect we may have finally seen a good batting team performance. Pinch me.

Cue England losing 4 wickets for 6 runs.

A good performance from both sides I gather. Pakistan bowled 5 specialist bowlers so 273 a pretty good score. Should be tough to chase.

Very good performance by Junaid, especially in the death. He was also pretty decent with the new ball, considering the fact that it was in the subcontinent. I think the ball must have been reversing due to the amount of wickets being bowled.

2 bowled's foe Juanid definetley a Pakistani fast bolwer should get a stamp of approval now.:D

Broad can keep taking wickets like this throughout the tournament, I really don't mind :D

Looks to me like England are using this to play the proper XI (minus Swanneh) - in that case, it's suggesting to me that Swanneh will be replacing Yardy (or is that wishful thinking?)

I hope so, with Swanny in it's easily their strongest side. Just shows what being fresh and having a rest can do, in the case of Broad.

Yep, can only hope. Relies on Ravi being 6th batsman and 5th bowler though, and given he wasn't in the squad, that still might not happen. I notice Colly has been brought on first, that's interesting.

Anderson busy trying to rescue his figures.

If they get Afridi in early then Pakistan could be in trouble. I'd be disappointed to see Misbah or Razzaq come in given that England are just playing an XI.

Pakistan countering pretty well, England definately need a wicket. Younis hammers Yardy for six and Ravi gets taken off after two overs for 14. Strauss brings back Jimmy to have a go.

Shehzad 23 off 24 balls. Came in at six, so Pakistan are either playing more than eleven players or are playing without a captain. Wouldn't put it past them.
