Ha ha, sitting here trying to write this bio of Clem is proving very frustratingYou're in combative mood today
Nice review Martin - I must say I found the portrayal of him in the TV series somewhat laughable, very much the comic-strip villain. It was that bloke from The Matrix and Lord of the Rings, wasn't it? Hugh Jorgan or some such.Douglas Jardine - Spartan Cricketer
In the week that England have retained the Ashes, Martin reviews a biography of arguably the greatest Ashes skipper of them all.
Read the Trumper one (a few years ago now) remember it being not too bad a lot more interesting then the one on the 1899 series anyway, by Sharpman I thinkYou can`t go past David Fifth`s Bodyline Autopsy for a very good, rounded portrait of Jardine.
Anyway, ordered Victor Trumper and the 1902/03 Australians from England for some Winter Vacation reading.
Have the Gibbs one on order so hopefully we will have a review up soon.really enjoyed graeme smiths book, especially the chapter about batting with a broken hand etc. anyone read herschelle gibbs book yet? and is ntini releasing one? that'd be a great read too
Good read MartinEchoes from a Golden Age
Next week we will name the CW Book of the Year for 2010, and explain the reason for the delay in its announcement. In the meantime Martin has been reading something rather special.
Finally completed and emailed to archie. Now, it's up to him as to when it ends up on the site!Sorry, have been a tad slow on this. Give me another month or so...
Yet to read that one mate, sounds like one to keep an eye out forI've nearly finished Michael Holding's 'No Holding Back', and I've really enjoyed it....

Have not read that one, will have to keep an eye outI'm half-way through Conrad Hunte's autobiography 'Playing To Win' , It's a decent book and a fast read, will get done with it when I find an hour or two today. HIs views on the black-white divide are really new to me.
