I think Mussey would/should get the AB medal, he has been the heartbeat of the ODI side, he was great during the T20 worldcup and people might be surprised by this but he made more runs than any Australian test batsmen in the last calendar year, so all in all Mussey deserves it.

Watto should get the ODI player of the year AFAIC, Finch for the young player award and Copeland for the state player of the year.
But he made them in four tests.

Watson should get it by a mile mate.

Yeah, the way the voting system works it heavily favours consistently over cashing in big in a small number of matches.

I personally think Watto has underachived as a test batsman so far in his career, there is no doubt he is probably at the peak of his batting career atm but despite that he has a lot of test 50's but only a handful of 100's to show for it.

Mussey through his lean patch scratched around and scored some tough runs but as soon as he hit form he made the most of it and made big runs, now don't know whether that is something that really should go against him.

Won't mind if they give it to em both, but would be pretty disappointing if they don't recognise Hussey for his efforts right across all formats from last year.

FFS, SACA.

The board needs an enema. Nothing wrong with Forrest at all but can't they develop even one local player any more?

Seems ridiculous to give Hussey the Test player award for the year 2010 given most people wanted to drop him for 10 months.

Only Watson and Katman delivered throughout the year.

Katman, had a poor last six months tbh, basically from the Lord's test onwards. A lot of that wasn't really his fault, but the numbers are there.

Cricketer Of The Year
Allan Border Medal on Monday night aka Let's Celebrate Shane Watson.
Only Watson really has runs on the red carpet | The Australian

In fact, Watson could win the awards for Cricketer, Test Player, Limited Over International Player and International Twenty20 Player. Gender bars him from the women's awards, but he could get a look-in for best dressed and best groomed, also renowned strengths of his.
Quite fair of Cricket Australia to give him an extra few days to get his hair done etc... :)

KFC cup will go for 6-8 weeks.
Decisions on competition rules may not occur till april, meaning recruitment for sides will be between april to december.
Late move by the CA,not a good start.
I guess states will probably sign up players for their state by march/april,and then concentrate on recruitment for the kfc cup.

International Vice-Captain
My Twenty20 team of the tournament:

1. David Warner
2. Daniel Harris
3. Shaun Marsh
4. Aaron Finch
5. James Hopes
6. Kieron Pollard
7. Travis Birt (WK)
8. Jason Krejza
9. Nathan Lyon
10. Stuart Clark (C)
11. Patrick Cummins

12. Daniel Christian

Tough to select the openers, as most of the best batsmen open in the format are openers(Warner, Harris, Marsh, Gayle, Hopes, and Finch). Travis Birt is the only wicketkeeper to achieve a respectable record across the tournament so he can bat at seven. It was hard to split the spin trio of Krejza, Lyon and Rashid. I had to select two of them, and I felt Rashid was slightly lucky with three or four of his wickets, I have excluded him. I think Cummins and Clark are automatic inclusions in any side selected.
