It was attacking the fast bowling that got him his runs in the first place. If he didn't back himself he'd never have got his hundred.

I swear this guy should be allowed to bat up the order. This number 7 business just isn't gonna work. If you want knocks like these you need to allow the likes of Pathan and Pollard to bat at 4/5.. sure they may fail at times but will play these kind of innings the other times.

Agree fully. A number of good batsmen are wasted because they are treated as no 7 specialists.

Haha. It was the third ball of the game I watched. Clearly between the two of us Pathan skeptics, he had no chance.

Needless to say I have changed my mind about his inclusion after this game. It will be awesome if he can produce this kind of innings in the semi or final of the WC.

Anyway this has been a really disappointing series for the batting especially for Raina and Yuvraj who clearly don't have the goods against quality pace bowling in SA conditions. I suppose one of them will be dropped for the WC for Kohli and Pathan.

A real pity we won't be getting our first series win in SA. I suppose if Sachin and Gambhir were fit, we would had a decent chance of winning either game 4 or 5. Perhaps Sehwag could have made a difference too.

I understand, but you're at a point where you need 50 off 66 balls. It's the first ball you're facing off the over, I just don't see how it was necessary for him to go after every ball at that stage.
