Yeah. Batting has been poor all series long, we couldn't keep pulling miracles out of our ass every time. Kudos to SA.
This shouldn't have been a miracle though. 1/87 after 20 overs shouldbhave been easy. From there you're ahead of the game.

Funny thing about this series:
both teams had chances to close out the series.
Come to think about it, that also applies to the test series.

I agree with that, I was saying our previous wins owed a lot to some miraculous recoveries and a generous helping of SafferChokes. Most of our top-order just don't have the technique and quality to deal with S. African quicks on these wickets.

This game seals it for me, we need to play Pathan ahead of Raina. He's in solid form right now, could be VERY dangerous if he gets going. Kohli is also a must in the playing XI.

not to mention the lucky wickets with some horrible part time bowling. SA deserve the ODI series imo.

I agree play Pathan and Kohli (WAFG).

I guess it's between Yuvraj and Raina, and Yuvraj's bowling is probably more valuable than the extra runs Raina has been scoring.

Tough though. In an ideal world Yuvi would just gagf forever.

The South African bowlers have had their fair share of "lucky wickets". Besides, not all our part-time bowlers were lucky. Thought Yuvraj Singh bowled reasonably well - should have got JP Duminy for a duck today.

India's bowling has looked weak, enough to lose matches, primarily due to the part-timers. When they've struggled to score 250 even once in these conditions, they've given away more than that score three times out of five. Against a South African side with six batsmen, no Kallis and no Boucher. There's no quality in that bowling at all. They're a lot less effective than South Africa's tail.

This should serve as food for thought. A fifth bowler won't hurt at all. Kumar, Ashwin and Harbhajan are competent batsmen, and can accumulate enough runs to add to team totals. Collectively, more than Yuvraj.

Yeah S. Africa have had the luck with the LBW's in the last couple of games and the Parthiv catch shouldn't have been given IMO. Not that it would have mattered ultimately.
