*Official* England in Australia (2 T20 & 7 ODIs)

UDRS needs to allow bowlers to refer dodgy wide calls. Shazhad got screwed big time before.

Game's done.

In the end a well manufactured win. Very much enjoying the David Hussey show, no doubt the man is capable. You don't become one of the leading domestic players in the world in all three formats across multiple countries without being a decent cricketer.

Another good win for Australia. Apparently, the knack of finishing matches runs in the Hussey family.

Strange series. Sensed in all matches we could have got something for them and didn't take the key moments.

at the end of the day, our bowlers did well here. Our fist choice attack might have taken us to a win (it's a big might) but the batsmen need to get their act together.

Yay, great win by us, even though we made it a bit tougher than it should've been. Looked gone after Haddin went.

Surprised to see Lee get MOM. Did bowl well, but I would have given it to Dussey.

Gotta say I thought Strauss's captaincy was very average tonight. Not going for the kill at 5/100 and saving up Tremlett/Shazhad/Woakes until it was too late, some of the fields to Haddin/Hussey...

International 12th Man
Can't see him doing any worse than North or Smith.
He is 34. No matter how well he is doing (and he is not doing that well in longer forms of the game), picking him is too short term a solution. Fair enough if you don't like North or Smith but there have to be better options than Hussey as a replacement.

Seems a common thing. Clarke was content to let Trott and Wright bunt it around for ages with blokes out on the fence.

Anderson will be back on Wednesday, Swann probably next Sunday at the very earliest

It's less keeping the field back that concerns me, Duss/Smith and Trott/Wright are decent bats who can hurt you if you aren't careful. It's the bowling of Yardy for so long instead of the frontline quicks. Bowling Colly - that's fair, he's taking wickets. But when you're defending such a small total, when you sense a moment like that (5/100) and you're just starting to get your foot on our throat, you have to stamp it down.

There was a moment as well where I think it was Yardy just coming on. Strauss decided to bring the man from deep point up.... really really bad move. One of the easiest fours Haddin's scored in some time, I'd say.

Suffice to say he went straight back.

Yeah but it's fair enough saving bowlers for the death fielding first. Strauss did it defending 215 when there obviously weren't even going to be any death overs.

I mean it's a very tough job when you have to simultaneously attack (take wickets) and defend (keep little runs flowing) and juggle overs left per bowler but at that stage he could've afforded to be a bit more attacking. Certainly neither Tremlett/Shazhad should've had overs to spare at the end.

That, and his odd fields to Dussey/Haddin (exactly what use were the onside boundary riders?) and you'd have to say he could've done better.
