Aussies having real problems with the moving ball these days. Have all the chickens of super flat decks past in SS cricket come home to roost with a generation of flat-footed batters?

Looks like it, although some of the shots (Watson, Clarke) are less the moving ball and more just poor batting.

Seriously, what was that from White? And Yusuf Pathan is called a useless agricultural hack on here...

I'm starting to wonder what exactly is Clarke's role in this side, he is a bit of stone-waller these days , and you expect a player like him if nothing else atleast guts it out in tough conditions like these.
Watto, Hussey and Haddin are atleast aggressive strokeplayers and have that as an excuse for the way they got out, but can't figure out exactly what Clarke was trying to do by playing a shot like that with two wkts down..

Disagree completely, Haddin played an awful shot that had nothing going for it. Watson's was pretty **** too with two slips and a 3rd man.

Clarke's was there to hit, was a rank long hop. He just executed it absolutely horribly.

They're all pretty horrible shots, don't see what excuses you can make for any of them.

White's amazingly strong. Not timing them at all but they clear the infield with ease.

Aah great shot from Marsh

Watson, Hussey and Haddin all play like that and when its their day those shots come off, but what I can't digest is someone like Clarke who wasn't interested in playing any shots on a flat MCG pitch the other night, coming in and playing a shot like that with 2 wkts already down.
I'm all for taking the attack to the opposition when you are under pressure, but obviously Clarke is just not good enough to do that these days, so it was just plain reckless stuff from him out there today.

How is trying to hit a long hop for 4 reckless? And if Haddin is playing loose defensive strokes with his feet nailed to the ground is his "natural game"...

Good partnership between these two, White looking much more settled. Marsh's looked good from the start, really.

England starting to lose some concentration tbh.

Hopefully in the second innings a similar display of bowling with the new ball gets some scalps and Haurie is able to keep it tight.
