Brett Lee far too low. In the top 5 best ODI bowlers of all time. His record speaks for itself.
Who's to say that we'll see another 4 bowlers in the top 25?

In all seriousness though I agree that Lee could be higher. I had him at 18th, I figured he would be a great chance of making the top 25..

Again, top effort NUFAN.

I'm now petrified imagining a scenario where Waqar won't make it. :(
In fairness, he may not. His control in one dayers wasn't great, and there's a good chance people might look at the economy rate with him. Would put him in my top 50 however.

Yeah but IIRC in terms of balls bowled, He was ahead by a good distance to make it to 400 wickets.

Also, he was a richer version of the bowler Malinga is now, in that, his stats don't tell the full story of how he could turn the match around in the matter of an over. Still his stats are quite incredible anyway and he was still extremely high quality even post 1995 unlike in tests where he went from Better-than-ATG to 'just' World Class.

Allan Donald at 27 and Miandad at 26. I thought those too would make the top 25 of almost everyone. FTR the ICC greatest ODI bowlers ever list released in 2002 had Wasim at 1, Donald at number 2 and Waqar at number 3 IIRC.

The 26-30 list was surprising for me. Somebody though had come up with good guesses. I can't recall who. From my guesses it is only Ganguly who has made it in this section.

What is this??? The players remaining or the players completed so far????

And by the way great work NUFAN. The picture profiles that you give are just too good. Keep up the good work. Still can't get over the fact that Javed and Donald ranked so low.

Completed players! I wouldn't ruin it for you all.

The picture profiles are pretty easy, just google images, it's been hard to find ODI picks for a few of the early 80s players - the write ups are pretty dodgy IMO, a copy and paste job from selected parts of player profiles mainly..

Waqar and Lee's ODI records are remarkably similar. It would make for an interesting thread to compare them as ODI bowlers.

True. Does sound like an interesting thread.

Was just watching some of the Wasim, Waqar clips from 92-93 tri-seies uploaded by the one and only Robelinda. Waqar's reverse swing yorkers are just awesome. Saw two matches where SA choked from such strong position mainly due to some top notch bowling from the 2Ws.

Very similar. Waqar a little more expensive by the standards of his era.

As I said, Miandad should have been higher. I predicted correctly though that Miandad would make in the 26-30 range in CW's rankings.

Good to see Ganguly in the top 30, though I didn't vote for him. Same for Lee and Donald.

So now with Bond, Haynes, Hussey and Miandad gone, I have 21 more players from my list remaining. And I'm pretty sure that ALL of them will be in CW's top 25.

Who'll be the other 4 (from outside my list)? Let me guess...Imran, McCullum, Symonds and Waqar I think.

I remember both those matches and they were rescued from even worse situations than what SA threw away against India recently, except it wasn't due to choking.
