Three horse race to be the best team in the world?

I just don't understand the bullish "I can't see how England could win a Test match here" talk coming from some of the Indian fans on this forum.
No one said that. I said series, not match. A vital distinction
You're wrong

It's difficult to see England coming to India and winning a test match, let alone a series.
I was one of the posters who made the "I can't see how England could win a Test match here" remarks

Fair enough, I didn't read his posts.

I too find it difficult to see them winning a match, but it wouldn't be too shocking. A series - no. In fact, I kind of want them to win a series because it'd be an epic one if they did - beating India on a complete dustbowl?

Yeah, and I used an incorrect plural myself - he was the only one, I think, making that point.

Anyhow I agree with you that a series win in India for England seems pretty unlikely. The series at home this summer, though, is a different story and I'd expect a close and very hard-fought series with the winner quite hard to predict.

Yea, England would be the favorites though - depending on Zaheer's fitness and the type of pitches prepared making the balance tilt toward either side (well....Zaheer not being fit would make England massive favorites).

Makes me laugh that Zaheer almost never gets the credit after a series is won compared to the batsmen, but before a series is always the most important player in the side.

Whatever it takes!!!
English pitches don't really bounce that much, do they? That makes it easier for Indians, I suppose... Our boys find it harder to deal with pace and bounce than seam and swing...

But if I'd said the IQ tests were flawed I'd have been having a go at them instead? Would hope Marcuss IS bright enough to know I was having a lend of him.

England will be favorites at home. And if Zaheer is missing from the Indian team - a very likely possibility given the WC, IPL, and WI tour before the England tour - India will certainly struggle to take 20 English wickets. In such a scenario, the best India can hope for is get some wonderful bowling conditions when the ball is in their hand, as it happened quite a few times last summer, and hope not to be found at the wrong end of the stick while batting.

Hope the above pacifies the English supporters who seemed deeply disturbed when I said, England don't have much of a chance of winning a test in India.

Thousands of posts like this and this one is picked out for censure? You only have to look at the previous few posts to see others doing exactly the same thing and the post was clearly not meant to be taken seriously.

Yeah, I thought the same thing actually. I posted something similar, except the tone of Burgey's post was a lot more light-hearted than mine.

Was strange to see his post picked out, and the others let go.

Pretty sure if you take two tests and get scores of 70 and 100 you aren't supposed to add them together Marcuss.

I didn't have the internet so couldn't get in on the burns when they were still entertaining but still couldn't help but contribute.

I'll show myself out. :(
