what i meant was that cook has a good chance but not that if its given to vvs, its like waste of the award or so !Make your mind up!
in such a case, sachin`s 207 against sri lanka which saved the match also needed an inclusion thereSurprised that Sachin's Double ton against the Aussies didn't make it. Was a quality innings that one.
Good to see knocks that weren't over 100+ being nominated though. They should really start calling em "match-winning knocks" instead of "match winnings hundreds". Laxman on there 3 times WAG
His greatness will never be reflected through stats. Such an awesome player.
No that double ton came on a road. Not to say it wasn't a very good innings (because the match still had to be saved) but his double against Aus was much much better on a track that did have something in it (if as a bowler you had the required skills).in such a case, sachin`s 207 against sri lanka which saved the match also needed an inclusion there
anyways the list is fair IMO
yep sorry i just remembered the fact that i save dthe matchNo that double ton came on a road. Not to say it wasn't a very good innings (because the match still had to be saved) but his double against Aus was much much better on a track that did have something in it (if as a bowler had the required skills).
Both did and Tendys effort was very very good but Abdur Razzaq's effort came in an almost impossible situation and Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen ever and when I talked to Saeed Anwar after Sachin had made 200 Anwar told me that if there was one batsman who should have broken it, it should have been Sachin. Nobody expected Abdur Razzaq to smash 63 of the last 65 runs in 5 odd overs to beat Pakistan's usual nemesis SA.But both ultimately secured wins for their side.
How the **** has Trott's innings at Lord's vs Pakistan not been nominated?
No way morgieb, the reason they managed to lose despite blowing away the top order was because of Trott, and Broad.Well they probably weren't, but how they bowled an amazing spell to put England in dire **** only to lose horribly sounds a little more than a coincidence.....
ODI batting has to go to Tendulkar. First ever double-ton ftw.
Matthews was the tougher innings, but Tendulkar had more significance.
The 200 was phenomenal indeedit just has to be 200!!!!!!!
such an amazing knock.. watched it all over again now
I do agree with that. IMO the best innings was the Abdur Razzaq innings. However Tendy must be commended for doing something that nobody has ever done before. The 200 was brilliant but it was sort of inevitable during that match. Sachin was on 186 with 7 overs to go, and sort of crawled there while Dhoni layed into the bowling on a flat deck. From halfway through the innings, the match became all about the record and nothing else.
It was far less about this particular match and more about being an extra trophy to top a stunning career.
Razzaq's on the other hand, was just unbelievable to watch. As has been said he single-handedly won the match, he pretty much nicked victory from three-quarters of the way down the throat of defeat, just epic.
Yeah, and he will. People will always remember the first double hundred, how long it took for it to occur, who scored it and exactly how fitting it was for such a great to finally break the barrier. It'll go down in history - nay, it already has gone down in history - as a landmark limited overs knock. However Tendy must be commended for doing something that nobody has ever done before.
