Damn, it would be terrible if Harbhajan got injured.
Really? I'm of the opinion that his presence in the team is holding back Chawla, Ojha, Ashwin etc. Just done some Statsguru on him and he averages a tick under 35 for the last four years in ODI's. That shows that his mediocre form has probably stretched out longer than most people imagine.

I'd have more faith in him in a big WC knockout match than any of those other guys though..

Harby hasn't played too many ODI's over the last few years tbh. I don't doubt his ODI form at all. He's always been more of a damage control bowler than a wicket taking one and trust me we'll need that in the SC. The part timers will end up getting the wickets anyway

Well, at least we can boast of having the best set of pie-chuckers in world cricket right now. :)

He is keeping it pretty tight though. Think of the pitches he's been playing on in those four years.

These ****ing ads on Ten Cricket are really starting to take the piss. That one was covering the screen while the ball was still being bowled FFS. :@

72 games not big enough a sample size for you?
Compared to Raina who's played what 90-95 odd ODI's since mid 08 no. The point was that harby has missed a fair few ODI's (we play A LOT so it may not seem like it) over the last year and a half and he hasn't done anything to be left out.

"Hasn't done anything to be left out"? He's played a large number of games and has done averagely tstl. Ashwin comes into the side and straight away performs and yet Harbhajan is still seen as the number 1 spinner. Odd tstl.

Post T20 WC 2010 here are all the ODI's that India played which Bhajji missed.

- Tri- series (SL / IND / ZIM) (Not played)
- Asia cup (Played)
- Tri- Series (SL / IND / NZ) (Not played)
- Aus v Ind (One off ODI) (Not played)
- NZ vs IND (Not played)

That's roughly about 15-18 odd ODI's he's missed since then so you can't judge his current form. Ashiwn has played against a NZ side who got swept by B-desh. Zimbawe and a second string SL side and a second string Aus side (although the batting was ok). He's done well no doubt but I don't see a case of where Ashwin should get the nod. If anything it's better to hide Aswin till the WC matches because he is somewhat of a mystery bowler and will take some getting use to. Not to mention Bhajji > Ashwin in batting (which can be handy in the SC).

Feel Ashwin is far too overrated tbh. He might be good but I haven't seen him bowl any better than harby in the odis. And his fielding is awful.

Great knocks by AB and Duminy....

But the Saffers may want to look for replacements for Ingram and Miller, if they want to win the World Cup.
