*Official* India in South Africa

This is India's fourth win over South Africa in T20; the only match they lost to them was a dead rubber back in England last year.

I back us to defend this. We've got our part-time army in full flow
Haha I thought our pie-chucker army was just getting lucky against out-of-form/poor NZ batsmen in the recent ODIs, but apparently not. Helped that this track was lower and slower than most subcontinental tracks as well. It makes Pathan and Yuvraj much harder to get away. I think Ashwin is the kind of bowler who'd prefer bouncier tracks, though.

SA 's bowling sucks in shorter formats. But the batting looks good. Would be interesting if both Smith and Kallis decide to retire from ODIs after the WC. Stick Faf in for Duminy, would be a massive improvement.

Loved the venue but jeez, how small were those boundaries.
Good job the pitch was crud. Type of ground where the advertising boards might as well be the boundaries, no point having a rope.

Hope van Wyk gets a couple of ODIs. Would be ideal for the WC 15, providing back-up for Smith and AB and he has never let South Africa down.

Would be tempted to go with JP over Botha for the WC. Have Tahir, Faf and JP as the spin options.

Smith
Hash
Kallis
AB
JP
Faf
Miller
Parnell
Steyn
Tahir
Lopsy

Hasn't Botha all but been anointed the ODI captain for after the WC?

He has but I don't know why. He hasn't been particularly impressive with the ball since being banned from bowling the doosra and I don't think his captaincy was very good against Pak. Can't blame him yesterday as Ntini had to bowl 4 overs but against Pak he underbowled himself and JP.

Agreed but he's a good lower order bat + decent bowler imo. Duminy so sucks against spin

And his captaincy sucks.

I reckon MVW would be in the ODI squad right now if the selectors had any intention of taking him to the World Cup. I've always liked him but I don't see it happening.
