Another problem may be with the limit on internationals in your side. Plus considering theres a bunch of indian spinners who you can take who can do just as well at bowling economically in t20's it makes swann abit unneeded. Then you add in that last year some people probably had contracted english players who couldn't play and their probably worried they'll miss games this year aswell. IPL isn't real cricket and these values aren't a representation of how good a player is at real cricket at all.

Swann is definitely test no.1 spinner but that doesn't make him No.1 spinner in T20s.

No offense to Swann and Anderson but if you have problems in relation to availability during IPL then why on earth would you put yourself in the 400k bracket. Surely they would know availability is a factor in the bidders minds? A 100k could have been earned for a couple of games if they used their heads.
