He is not, in T20 cricket. That buy makes sense. He cannot run, is a good slip fielder but T20 cricket needs more than that. He cannot slog even if his life is at stake.

In short, he is just too good for the IPL.

Delhi is getting hit hard here. So many players lost to other teams, will leave them with little now. They may have to pick up all the bargain players now. Losing Gambhir was huge.

Uthappa had a fantastic strike rate of 172 in the last IPL with a decent average of 31. While he may not be worth 2 million he is worth a lot in this format.

Delhi has bought no one so far.

They have bid for one or 2 players only in any case.
