IPL4 Auction

Banned
Fair to say Mumbai panicked hugely there. They just wanted to get some young Indian stars but Rohit at 2 Million makes no sense.

 Symonds now @ 850k to Mumbai Indians

Kumar Sangakkara 650k.

Was almost sold for 600k.

Would have been a absolute bargain.

Have the salary caps increased? How are they affording so much more than they did 3 years ago?

International Debutant
Saurav Ganguly is 39 and hasn't played international cricket for two years. He hasn't been particularly successful in the IPL. Apart from Bengali fan sentiment I am not sure there was any reason to bid for him. He has had a fine career and is a very rich man. I think he should retire with grace.
He did well last time IIRC, better than a lot of Indian players. And considering 20 odd of 30 players has to be Indian IMO he should've made it - can't think too many better Indian players in IPL than him tbh.
