Timmy Nielsen in the paper this morning:

"There were some defiining moments in this series, and we were on the wrong side of them".

If you call, the 2nd, 4th and 5th Tests "moments", then yeah.

This guy just speaks rubbish, a total muppet.
Wonder what Mark Greatbatch or Inflitcher (sp?) Alam has to say about Australia's performances

According to the ICC rankings, England are now 3rd, Aus are now 4th?? Sri Lanka have moved down one, what on earth????? Actually, Sri Lanka dropped to 5th weeks ago, Aus have been 4th for over a month.
Yeah, on Sth Africa vs India last night someone (might've been Robin Jackman) said that if South Africa had lost that test and England won, they would have swapped spots but now there's just one point in it.

Or something to that effect, I wasn't listening intently or anything.

You know what the worst thing about being an Australian cricket fan these days is?

After the almost 2 decades of winning and doing so from tough positions even; watching this current lot you still have that habit of hoping and backing them to come good. Then they disappoint you with their ****tiness and it depresses you twice as much. We were shellacked and there is no way round it. Nielsen should be fired.

That was funny, Atherton asked KP if Adelaide was a great moment for him, and he said yes, the Clarke wicket was great.

we've just failed to click as a group

it comes down to those big moments

we were never in sync at once

we're not worried about what the other team does, if this group plays its best cricket the outcome takes care of itself

lol

Time for bed. Been a great series on here. Got a bit heated at times but most of you are good guys. On both sides there are awesome posters and this is the best forum on the web. Will miss the banter for the next two years.

But well done England, we ****ing deserved it and I knew we could do it.SO ****ing happy.

Warne's anti "computer/non cricket people" diatribe is funny.

I get his point about cricket people doing more coaching, but surely computer analysts who can get batting spiders and pitch maps for batsmen to help you work out plans to then go and work on in training.

The way Warne talks is though they sit there in front of computers instead of having nets, must say he goes way over the top at times but I do understand the vague point he's trying to make.

I hate work so much, another English victory missed.

Still these have been a ridiculously wonderfull few weeks to be an England fan.

Love the Herald Sun poll, is this the worst aussie team to lose the Ashes on home soil. Massive amount of people said yes. Obviously they have never watched the 78/79 disaster especially, or 86/87. Massive overreaction.

on the other hand, it's the first time we've ever lost three Tests by an innings in the same series

all to a team ranked just one place above us

it may not be the worst team, but certainly one of the worst performed

I think this illustrates pretty well the problem some freakish players in any sport have being coaches. Warne had that much talent, he could just turn up and do it. I mean, though it's only a TV show, check out those Cricket Show sessions he did live to air, straight from the comm box and didn't bowl a rank ball in any of them.

He's headstrong too, and combine that with ridiculous talent, and I think you get the "well I never needed much coaching and using computers.." stuff. Well, no you didn't. But the mere mortals do.

This England side is miles better than the 86 or 78 teams though, gotta give them credit.
