*Official* English Football Season 2010-11

Was just thinking that - I reckon City must be delighted. It was dire to watch, but they came for a 0-0 draw and they got it, job done.

Also Sky are getting stuck into Manchester City. The concept of a team going to a top 4 rival and aiming not to lose seems to be lost on them.
It does show a lack of ambition though, I mean, Arsenal are hardly infallible are they? Granted had Balotelli and Silva been fit they probably would have had a better crack at it, but still.

He was fine defensively, but the number of times Arsenal were crying out for a ball to be played left only for Clichy to be scratching his arse on the halfway line was criminal.
But tbh, had he pushed up further, it would have resulted in his cross failing to beat the first man/him playing a stupid one-two pass, losing it and having to scamper back/getting there and passing it back to the centre backs.

Also was Chamakh fit tonight? If so then wtf was Bendtner sent on for? And why the **** is he repeatedly used on the wing?! I mean for God's sake, the guy has no pace and is no great shakes on the ball, he's not great at anything but at least he could provide a target. I thought Arsenal would vary it up by bringing him on to get some crosses into him and to give Toure and Kompany a bit of a different challenge, but to bring him on as a winger in a like for like swap, christ.

Didn't even know we signed (last August) Benjani! Was watching it in a bar and I thought Shabani Nonda had returned.

On the off chance of Gareth Bale reading this thread i'd just like to pose a question; what's it like being in super Phil Neville's back pocket?

Couple of injuries to key attacking players, away to a side who thumped you 3-0 last time you met. Reckon most managers would be delighted with the point, particularly with how easy it was.

What is that?

Happy with the 0-0 away, though it doesn't really benefit us that much. Without Silva and Mario I don't think we actually could have won the game in any case. Why Jo started when Johnson was on the bench is well and truly beyond me though.

Oh, and the Zabaleta red card was ridiculous.

Not down about the game at all, played very well but didn't really have any luck in front of goal. Sagna and Zabaleta was just bizarre. Knew City would come to play safe but didn't expect the team on the rise to pin their asses to the wall and pray they could keep it out. We'll finish above them this season.

Looks like they are starving that kid at Chelsea. You would of thought they would have done with Fat Frank first...

Mmm I'm with sledger here. There's pros and cons to both but at the end of the day a win is worth three times as much as a draw. So even if you only think it gives you a 35% shot at winning with Arsenal winning the rest of the time, going for the win is still the right thing to do.

I mean, it's a creditable result, but I think in their position they should be aiming to win the league and to do so they need to take chances in situations like these.

Easy point? They got ripped to shreds in the first half and needed the woodwork to keep them in it. They played some of the most uninspiring stuff I've ever witnessed from a title contender.

At the same time we could still be playing the 2nd half now and it would still be 0-0.

With the way Man City set out last night, all you need is one good counter attack, or one good set piece (and it was Arsenal they were playing) to pinch a goal and you're 1-0 up. Suck the opposition out looking for an equaliser and hit them again. It's a perfectly legitimate way of playing, even if it's not particularly great to watch, and the criticism they took in the Sky studio was completely unjustified.

Not necessarily, they played in exactly the same manner against us with Silva available, though admittedly Balotelli didn't play. And that was at home.
