*Official* India in South Africa

Everything depends on Sehwag and Laxman.

Tendulkar is extremely unreliable in the second innings for India, Dhoni too. Dravid is out of form.

If they can negotiate the first spell, and Sehwag goes on a rampage, they could quickly get into a position of strength. I'd say the odds are:

70% SA win
20% draw
10% India win

I didn't watch after the first session. How the hell did India blow this from having SA 130-6 to letting 'em score 340?

In a nutshell - some excellent batting from Kallis and the tail-enders, some ordinary bowling from the Indians (particularly Sreesanth and Ishant Sharma), ordinary captaincy from MS Dhoni.

I am guessing that at least a hundred overs will be bowled tomorrow, which means a draw is quite unlikely. If India manage to bat through the overs, they should be able to get the required number of runs.

Why do I get the feeling that what was setting up to be one of the most exciting Tests ever when South Africa were 270/7 will be ruined by Graeme Smith and MS Dhoni?

Dhoni was pretty terrible but I'm not sure Smith deserves so much flak. This is a quality Indian batting lineup and 300 runs in a day and an hour would be plausible, if very difficult. If the other side even comes close after a declaration then the captain has made a mistake in declaring. There is still a whole day left in this match.

On the flip side, South Africa could have had India two down by stumps today. Look, if the Indians decide to shut up shop and bat for a draw, then it won't be easy to bowl them out. Graeme Smith did the same against Pakistan recently - ordinary stuff to be honest.

India have to be around 240 by the 70th over with atleast 7 wickets in hand to make a game out of this. Nope, I don't think they stand a chance but they've played well enough in this series otherwise.

The rankings will be questioned again and SA will certainly feel they've the right to brag about it.

True, We can expect 200 ball half century from Dravid, it should honestly not be a problem. Pujara also has great temperament.

If Sehwag plays the best innings of his career I could see India winning but obviously chances are slim. My guess is India will be around 200 all out. Though I hope that even if we lose someone scores a defiant century.

86 Overs were bowled today.

Don't know how much play is left to be made up for day 1 ,but don't see their being 100 overs.

Infact even if India look like getting the target the Saffies can slow the over rate down and bowl defensive lines.

India's only chance if any of winning it is either Sehwag or Dhoni score quickfire 70 odd atleast making the task easier for the others.
And it would have to be early on too,to put SA in a predicament.
