Sick of bringing him up, but I reckon Steve Smith has actually gotten worse as a cricketer in the last few months. Last season he looked so much more self-assured. His bowling today was nowhere near his best, his high action was completely gone. Hopefully he can display some of what he's capable of in the next two days.
I thought you defended him?

steve smith needs to work out what he wants to be at the highest level. 6 Months ago he was in the team as a bowler, in this match he was brought on after 102 overs or something.

At 21 years of age, the poor kid needs guidance. Hardly his fault that he's being picked in the team as a bits and pieces cricketer.

His legspin has potential, but in a few interviews he's said he would much prefer being in the team as a batsman. If so, he needs to tighten up his technique a ****load, and start scoring more runs in state cricket.

Hmm just saw a replay of that Hughes thing, pretty disappointing. I'm confused now, because I would have thought Hughes would be one of the least likely people cheat - he seems like a really decent bloke. Did he maybe just get caught up in the moment?

They also show potential, Smith isn't showing any.
 Get out of it.

A massive haul in a First Class game, a 40+ batting average, outstanding fielder and he's 21. No, he hasn't taken to Test Cricket yet, but there are plenty of positive signs.

Deadset, you're having a steffi graf.

EDIT: And he's still averaging more than Clarke this series.

Remember everybody, don't argue with vicleggie - he's apparently played more competitive cricket than you...

he's part of a ****E team in a ****e rythm at the moment. The whole team is showing no potential except that of being the crappest Aus team in 30 years. He's being asked to do too much when 3 of the top 4 fail miserably and he's in early against high quality bowling.

Flintoff, graeme swann, cook, ian bell, paul collingwood, bresnan were all turd kickers at that age, look where they are now with a bit of structure and maturation

Don't over complicate it, he's just crap.
He isn't crap, he just is nowhere near ready for the test side yet. Not a bad addition to the one day set up but not good enough as a bat or bowler to hold down a place. If you want a bits and pieces player you may as well pick mcDonald as he has the extra experience to pull it off. Smith looks a rabbit trapped in the headlights at present.

It was a fluke of a season. Also I saw that 4 wicket haul he got in recently, it was lucky to say the least.

The whole team IS showing potential man. We know what they are all capable of.

Even new comers like Khawaja and Beer showing heaps of potential. Smith is showing none whatsoever.
