*Official* Fifth Test at the SCG

Personally i thought Bell was out. The thing is, both incidents were referred and the 3rd umpire gave a decision. End of discussion.

Ratfaced Hughes still claimed a bump ball catch whatever you may think of Bell.
And Bell gamed the system to stay on the field after he hit one to the keeper. If we're assuming that players know exactly, and I mean exactly what happened in the millisecond that these events occur in of course.

If you're going to slate someone for attempting to cheat you should do the same when one of your players does the same thing. End of discussion.

Reckon Siddle has a decent chance at being a good long term support bowler. I really do like his bowling when he pitches it up and he has an awesome inswinging yorker.

But bloody oath, one in five match Johnson. We've already got our inconsistent batting to worry about
Yes , I like Siddles' bowling, he really runs in and puts the ball in the right places, to at least give himself a chance, I like he pulls the yorker out once ever so often as well.

I have already said Bell was out you ****ing cretin. 8-)

Give me strength. Don't need a rocket scientist to work out that if you think he is out he should have walked.

When Siddle drops short, however, I curse his name to the heavens. But otherwise he's a decent bowler.

The problem with our bowlers is that even though some of them are getting decent returns, they aren't doing it at the same time (with exception to the Perth test where both Johnson and Harris got 6-fors). Siddle and Johnson overall, in terms of results, haven't been too bad - both have series averages of around 34. Yet because of inconsistency, there hasn't been any bowling as a coherent team. Compound that with Hilfenhaus who just isn't a wicket-taker, and you have a completely ineffective bowling attack.

Wow, one reply and I'm already getting personal insults. Quality stuff, even from you.

And it is worth asking a question about the hypocrisy of having an entire board in arms when an Australian does something, but stone cold silence when a Pom does something similar.

Or when they just can't take wickets at all.

Having no bowler averaging under 30 (aside from broken Rhino) is more condemning than anything else

When he walked up to Prior he said 'I don't know if I've hit it' the What ever Prior said he replies 'you reckon', obviously once we saw Snicko , he just nicked it, but from the disturbance on the snicko, it was the slightest of feathers.

I like that Siddle, even today when he went for a few, was getting driven rather than pulled/cut usually. That's not a bad mistake to be making.

Reckon Aussies will be pretty pissed off at Bell.

Don't see why Snicko wasn't used......and replays suggested he was out - should've been given.

Probably because most of our lot are either in bed or at work which is an alien concept for you obviously. 8-)

Na, I disagree. Before this match Anderson, along with Finn and Swann, had series averages above 30 yet still managed to win games for their team. The reason is because they shared the wickets, rather than having only one performing bowler like us. I agree with you though, that a series average of 34 isn't exactly great anyway, but it shouldn't necessarily be bad enough for it to lose you matches as long as the bowlers are backing each other up.

I see why snicko was used - I see absolutely no reason why there was no sound on the replays though. It's not like there's a technological issue as there is with snicko, after all, remember the hubbub about the "sound not being turned up" in Eng/SA?

Takes snicko a fair few minutes to sort out, I think it was about 5 before snicko popped up today.

Didn't realize it was a crime to take a week off to watch the cricket :(

Anyway most of the regular English posters have posted since the incident. Willing to leave it there before you get yourself banned.

5 per cent unemployment here tbf...

These over rules always hurt more when you're the team under the pump. They sting a lot more when your bowlers aret creating many chances anyway, like our blokes ATM.

What was Bell on then? 80 odd? I can't recall tbh, but the damage was done. The real problem was taking a new ball and bowling mud pies with it.

Our bowling is troublesome, but I still feel that our lack of bowling is over-rated. Apart from Brisbane our batting's been awful, that should be looked at more.

Having said that, it's time to say goodbye to Hilf - I don't give a flying **** about good he looks, he's been bloody useless all series. Johnson shouldn't be used as a strike bowler and we need to look at new ideas.

Batting's harder as this is probably the best we've got. There's no-one after Hughes, no decent #4 and 3 players that are hitting the wall, who lack obvious replacements.
