Don't assume they're consistent though. It could be that for some reason it's just Steyn it's having issues with.
Yeah, maybe. I just think recorded speed out of the hand and perceived speed (which is what actually matters) aren't as strongly correlated as we might think..

It's not just Steyn that's the problem though. All the India bowlers seemed down on the pace in the first innings compared to what they usually bowl at despite not looking as such; I actually mentioned the possibility of a dodgy gun before Steyn had bowled a ball in this Test.

Nah, Ishant was clocked at 137.8 kph. If there really is as much difference as people are suggesting, Ishant must have been bowling in the mid-140s which is pretty much impossible.

do they have 2 guns at either end or one which reads both side
