*Official* Fifth Test at the SCG

Oh it'd be a crying shame if Beer doesn't got on to get a Test wicket now.

Cue a 5 for him tomorrow now.

Don't know what Tubby Taylor is on with his call that the no ball should stay legit and Cook (and in the last test, Prior) should stay out. It's a no ball, for ****'s sake. The umpire may urge on the side of caution and not call the no ball, knowing he can review it. Spinners shouldn't be bowling no balls at all in the first place, but I'd rather the right decision is made than "The Moment (TM)" is preserved.
I agree with Taylor.

Honestly, all this review stuff is becoming a nonsense. All the review system should be for is for the outrageously bad decision. Make it one review, not two, and cut out this no-ball crap. Honestly, if it's that close then it's not a huge drama. I haven't seen this Cook incident but to me, the Prior one in Melbourne felt wrong.

Only watched some of today, but I did see Smith's dismissal.

In my view, more harm than good is being done by playing him when he clearly shouldn't be playing test cricket right now.

Virender Sehwag played that shot of Haddin's, people would say "that's the way he plays".

Which is crap, frankly. Dire, dire shot from Haddin.
Let Haddin score some 300s and he'll probably get such grace from some people.

Until then...

He was amazing until his dismissal. Didn't play a false shot. There have been plenty of other innings where he's looked all at sea, but I don't think you can use this one for your argument.

(that said, he didn't score many...)

Why? Looking crap and then getting out may "look worse", but looking all right and then playing an awful shot going out in a similar way he's gone out before suggests he's not learning, and has technique issues.

I like the kid and hope he succeeds, but I don't see any point in him being selected as one of the best 6 batsmen (who bats 7) in Australia. Especially when a spinner has already been selected.

He looked sensational today is all. He's had plenty of other innings where I feel that your criticism would've been justified.

LEAVE STEVEY ALONE

Went to bed pretty happy at 190/8. Woken up pretty pissed to see we let them add another 90 to that. :@

Same old problem with bowling out the tail...just stick with what yoiu've been doing Straussy, it worked before! Would like to see a nice 50 from Bresseh or Swanneh at the back end of our innings to make up for, but it never seems to happen anymore...

Yeah I agree, you ****.

Could somewhat understand the logic of picking him if there was no specialist spinner as a result of the pitch being in seam land, but he's definitely not in the best six bats in Australia aws. Reckon he can contribute to the team in the long term, just not now.

Good experience nevertheless, and should be playing limited overs stuff.

He and Beer will bowl us to victory day five.

How did Siddle bowl today?
The best of a very very very bad lot before tea (so basically poor rather than outright dire) and OK afterwards. Bowled a decent length most of the time, got a few very close to the edge of KP's bat.

Let Sehwag have to keep for days on end instead of just letting his fat arse wander around the field doing nothing, and see how he goes.
