The three Indian quicks were all pretty solid.
Yeah they were but not the top level. If the 3 Indian quicks get a mention so do Graham Hume of South Africa, Alister McDermott of Aus and David Payne of England and Butt and Bhatti of Pakistan.

But those guys did ok but only really the above can maybe play international cricket.

Not sure if any of those 5 would touch Wayne Parnell, Mohammed Aamer and Tim Soutee though from the last WC. Aamer did pull out through injury though.

Only really 5 fast bowlers to really mention at this last u19 WC at a push.

The 2 that are clearly the best were Hazlewood and Holder.

The 3 chasing were Peiris and Jayampathi of Sri Lanka and Nathan Buck of England.
Who do you think has more potential between Hazlewood and Holder? i'm probably being biased but i'd say Holder  , i mean he's 6.6 while Hazlewood is 6.4 so there's a height advantage there for Holder and also Holder is a year younger, no doubt both have big futures in the game though.

Josh Hazelwood and all of his 125K Brockly? Pretty overrated tbh.
He hit 145K-ish in the final. He might already be the best bowler in Aus not already playing cricket for the senior side.

They both turn 19 this year WW so there's no advantage or disadvantage age wise.

I like to look at stats and them actually playing and from playing they looked similar type bowlers and in stats they both look similar as well but Hazlewood slighlty better in producing 2 4-for's in the SF and Final.

.....................wkts Ave BB RPO SR
HAZLEWOOD (13) 15.00 4-26 4.00 22.4

HOLDER (12) 17.75 5-19 4.03 26.4

Not sure if either will be better than Aamer, Parnell and Southee though. Parnell took 18 wkts and Southee 17 on flatter pitches in Malaysia where the ball doesn't do as much.

Hazlewood is 11 months older than Holder so i think i was pretty close with the "one year older" line  , but yeah the stats suggest there's not much between the lads, although i'd say Holder's 5 for 19 runs against England really sent out a message and it was the best stats in the whole competition in the end.

Hazlewood isn't 6"4.

He is 1.96m

Thats closer to 6"6 than it is to 6"4, and a centimeter taller than Glenn McGrath.

Hazlewood has also bowled one of the best spells of bowling in a ODD game this season.

2/22 against a top order of Chris Rogers, Brad Hodge, David Hussey, Cameron White and Andrew McDonald all Australian players at some stage of their careers, with 3 dropped catches, he dismissed Hodge and Hussey.

In a spell Hussey described as "unplayable"

19 year old James Pattinson took 6/48 in the same game

The deck can't of been doing to much either, Peter Siddle played in the game, and struggled with 0/40.

I was only going by what the commentators said!! , anyway do you think he'll be playing for the Australian senior side anytime soon?.

There is a bit of pressure on Siddle to keep his spot atm.

I don't think Siddle/Bollinger are either nearly as talented as Josh, whom swings and moves the ball off the deck, fairly consistently.

Will definately play test cricket, sometime in the next 2-3 years I would say.

A year after making this thread, let's see what's happened.....

Parnell - has been held back a bit by injuries but still remains a great talent.
Amir - had he not got himself involved in match-fixing he'd be on his way to greatness I feel.
Parmar - lost it after having his action re-modeled I believed - an Indian will probably tell us more about him.
Hazlewood - remains a big talent, hasn't done a lot at Shield level though.
Pattinson - see above.
Harris - was excellent last season - should be pretty decent.
Woakes - probably won't be great at test level but is still pretty good.
Southee - not sure what's happened here, hopefully will get back on track. Perhaps New Zealand's lack of bowling is punishing him.
Sharma - as befits his Indian quick heritage, has lost his way significantly. Still a chance of coming back though.
