*Official* India in South Africa

First session tomorrow will be important obviously, but India got the new ball. South Africa are a bit away from that.

India only started taking wickets once they took the new cherry. Something India must keep in mind.

Afraid so.
lol.....I think in the sub-continent it is always better to be a pessimist because hopes are not shattered :).....at least that is the formula I use being a Pak supporter and helps to prevent heart-break after we manage to have so many ****ups

Really good day for India IMO, Sachin and Gautie looking really good out there with VVS and Dhoni to come.

Haha, yeah. I'm a pessimist in most things in life though tbh.

So, what do you guys think is a good total to declare at?
A lead of 250 :p

Realistically speaking, I believe we can get to a lead of 100 from here if we carry on the good work tomorrow. I won't be unhappy with that.

In other words, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Gambhir and Dhoni has come as pleasant surprises for me in this series.

What'll this mean?

Naming Gambhir in the same league with Clarke, Hussey, Pietersen, Samaraweera (and even Graeme Smith, to an extent) etc will be more than legitimate now.

And one can't be dismissive about Dhoni's batting in the longer version of the game. He's certainly no champion with the bat (unlike the shorter version of the game), but is quite world-class for a wicketkeeper-batsman.

Among the 4 of them (Sehwag, Gambhir, Dhoni, Raina), I had most hopes on Sehwag and least hopes on Raina. While I still believe Sehwag could have done a lot better in these conditions against these bowlers, I can't say the same about Raina. He does not belong to the best batting lineup of the world. Welcome Pujara.

Definitely India's day. SA was well up at the end of yesterday and the game is about even right now. India need to bat all of tomorrow and hope for some turn on Day 4.
