Well he just got 5 wickets for his team Khan Research.Doing well in the FC matches, isn't he? Has potential to be a gun test bowler imo.
Turns out later that innings for Sohail. Can honestly see both taking wickets later in this series.
Yeah and give Williamson, Franklin, Vettori, Young a decent dig at the crease. Get our test squad in a decent frame of mind before the first test.Ideally we could bat again for all of day 3! Hope Arnel at picks up at least one, ditto Southee.
Gah, so you'd swap one average cricketer for another but in the process shuffle the order around just to fit him in?I'd prefer one of Taylor, Ryder or Williamson batting 3 and Franklin in at 6 for Guptill. But not sure if it'll happen.
Franklin isn't an average cricketer, and he is in the form of his life.Gah, so you'd swap one average cricketer for another but in the process shuffle the order around just to fit him in?
Yep, we've heard that before. He was in the form of his life when he made his test comeback late 2008 against the West Indies, how did that work out again?Franklin isn't an average cricketer, and he is in the form of his life.
That is true and One Day Internationals are a different kettle of fish than Tests. When you watch Guptill play it really looks like he is capable of a 40+ average and he is still real young by New Zealand standards.Yep, we've heard that before. Whether or not he's an average cricketer I guess it really doesn't matter, but is he a better batsmen then Martin Guptill? IMO he isn't but even if you go Franklin at least Guptill will bat in a position where it will allow our best batsmen to play where they feel most comfortable and that counts for a lot.
Reckon Williamson is a natural 3.Yep, we've heard that before. He was in the form of his life when he made his test comeback late 2008 against the West Indies, how did that work out again?

Well remember Guptill had a great time of it at number 5/6 so maybe Williamson could straight swap with him. Khuwaja played at number 3 against England in the Ashes on his debut.Reckon Williamson is a natural 3.
I subscribe to this point of view but I'm not sure if it is actually true of all players. If he is up to it then I reckon he should bat there. Being 0/-301 and coming in is probably less pressure than coming in at 30-90/4.As do I and I'd love to see him batting at three, but pushing him up the order after just three matches would be reckless. Your've got to give players of his age, especially a batsmen, some stability.
