It is only going to spur Smith on to bat even better. Sreesanth is such an idiot; if he could bowl half as well as he talked, India wouldn't be in a desperate position.

He is a joke of an individual, he should be concentrating on his own game. The fact that he concentrates so much on looking like a tough guy rather than bowling intelligently is why he hasn't and will not live up to the potential that the selectors repeatedly select him on.

He should not be sledging him because he is a joke of a person, as well as a cricketer.

But you have got to be able to back it up. If Dale Steyn talks trash, it is because he has the ability to bowl 150 km/h thunderbolts. It makes no sense for Sreesanth to run his mouth when he clearly cannot back it up with some good bowling.

It actually would make more sense. Steyn can take wickets without saying anything - Seesanth might need to benefit from getting under peoples skin.

That's a separate issue. We're just talking about "being able to back it up." My point was that sledging probably helps you more when you're bowling badly.
